I specialize in supporting individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, self-esteem issues, life transitions, work-related stress, parenting challenges, and personal growth.
There are times when we all get stuck on an issue or life event and we need help figuring it out. I believe that asking for help is a sign of strength, and I help you understand what is going on and how to move forward.

Therapy is a process of self-reflection and conversation that honors the struggles of life: career uncertainty, relationship decisions, loneliness, grief, and the ongoing pursuit self-love.
Learn how to feel more connected to yourself, others, and the world around you. Therapy provides all the elements of intimacy: honest communication, vulnerability, and trust. Good therapy is challenging yet warm, providing both structure and empathy for your unique experience.

It's all about relationships, starting with your relationship to yourself, your family of origin, your partner, children, friends. And then there's the relationship to your problems: things like depression, anxiety, ADHD, post-partum and parenting stress, body-image problems. How do you work with the set of challenges that life hands you? I work with clients to understand themselves and their own story, and then apply that understanding, in the form of coping and problem-solving skills, to their relationships, to get through life's pain and into a life worth living.

Therapy done right builds on personal connection, finds unrecognized freedoms, and orients it all with purpose, values and place. My therapeutic stance integrates connection, freedom and purpose to enhance your wellbeing with openness, balance, warmth, intelligence and wit. My practice cultivates resilience not dependence, vitality not victim-trap ideologies that are currently fashionable. I can help you acknowledge and overcome difficulties, reckon realistically with limits, and untangle other matters of the heart. Some pain is a part of life, but you needn’t suffer or manage it all alone.

Your Mental Health Matters, my goal is to be your guide, confidante and empathetic listening ear while you figure out what you want, what you need and how to get your life in a position where you feel fulfilled and balanced. The world can be a chaotic and stressful place. I am here to help anyone who is willing to process and explore their emotions to heal. The only goal to start with is making the call or sending the e-mail to ask for help. Speaking and hearing your truth can be scary but is necessary for the process of healing to begin. Therapy is a journey that I am honored to take with you to improve your quality of life.

Some of my specialties include working with relationship and interpersonal concerns, feelings of anxiety and depression, self-doubt and insecurity, assertiveness training, parenting concerns, women’s issues, and life transitions.
Modern day life increasingly necessitates managing multiple roles and stressors, but it also has numerous ways to distract and numb ourselves. It’s easy to become disconnected from our relationships and ourselves, and lose sight of our values and goals. Engaging in therapy provides a unique opportunity to slow down, examine our emotional and behavioral patterns that may no longer be effective, and make more conscious choices about how to live. Clients often share how they feel truly heard and understood in our sessions, finding comfort in the personalized attention and feedback offered.

I can't imagine getting much out of only hearing “uh-huh" or the overly used, “how does that make you feel?”. When you are looking for validation or ways to change behaviors or thoughts therapy is effective when it's a conversation. Occasional use of humor and swearing can help you lower stress and defenses when stuck in fear, anger, or judgement. I invite you to swear if it helps you express how difficult, unfair, or delightful a situation is. I find this uncensored atmosphere leads to an honest therapeutic relationship. If you struggle with anxiety, depression, or life stressors you may find these techniques useful and validating.

I work with you to create a safe and productive working relationship with me to understand the stressors that contribute to your experiences, explore new coping skills and strategies for strengthening relationships.
One way that people can cope with trauma, anxiety and depression is to distract ourselves with work. While this is a functional way to survive, it can also lead to feelings of isolation, numbness, extreme stress and burnout. Future goals and dreams may feel hopeless, you may be feeling like it is getting harder and harder just to move through your day. It may become challenging to connect with others and perhaps impossible to connect with any joy. In these times of uncertainty, it makes sense that we would be reaching out for support, reevaluating what is important and talking through ideas on how to move forward.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
