It can immobilize us and make us afraid to take any risks because we are fearful of potential outcomes. It can impact our relationships by leading to caretaking or people pleasing. It can lead us to try to control different areas of our lives and to avoid situations when we feel out of control. It may impact our ability to take care of ourselves, including effecting sleep and eating. Avoiding or attempting to manage anxiety can take a significant amount of time and energy.
