Now accepting new clients! My ideal client is a person who feels stuck—whether in a difficult relationship, a season of anxiety and depression, or as someone navigating the impact of past trauma. They might be grappling with emotional wounds from childhood or facing the challenges of being in or leaving a destructive relationship. What they deeply desire is to feel heard, understood, and empowered to make positive changes in their life. They want to heal from the pain that has kept them stuck and to rediscover their own strength and worth.

Are you feeling more anxious & fearful or find yourself crying more often and not feeling like yourself?

Get to the root of codependency and addiction without needing years of therapy.
For 25 years I have been doing a specific therapy that is structured with a beginning, middle, and end. It is healing from emotional immaturity due to childhood trauma. It is deep rooted therapy with actual tools and healing of wounds that stop us from living to full potential . Many have referred to it as the most transformative therapy that leads to generations of healing. Ideal client is high functioning with a need to recover from love addiction or love avoidance. I was trained by Pia Melody for the last 10 years. I am passionate about this therapy because of what it does for people. This is a therapy that has a structure.

I am passionate about working with people surrounding codependency, trauma, and attachment wounds from a heart-centered lens.
You're feeling stuck. You're finding yourself feeling overwhelmed and disconnected from life, others, and maybe yourself. You feel uncertain of your thoughts, wants, needs or what to do. Trauma can leave us feeling hopeless, exhausted, and alone. It can make us shut the world out, or put other's needs before our own in hope for solace. At times it can feel like change isn't possible, or if we just ignore it long enough it will resolve itself.

I am Pia Mellody-trained for the treatment of codependency and childhood trauma & apply this wonderful model to all of my work.
Connection with others is crucial for life. This can be elusive for those who don't know themselves or love themselves, leading to negative relationship or behavioral patterns. By helping you become more relational with yourself, you will develop more positive self-worth, have healthier boundaries with others, and have a more satisying and productive life. Let's get you "unstuck" and help you move toward greater happiness.

Have you tried traditional talk therapy and felt like something was missing? Did it seem like you were talking in circles, or reached a plateau? Did it feel too rigid or surface level? Many clients come to me after having done traditional talk therapy and now they want to go deeper. So many issues like codependency, addiction, and persistent anxiety and depression are rooted in subconscious beliefs and patterns rooted in childhood pain. My work is unique because we address your subconscious mind and nervous system, in addition to cognitive process, to help you heal the past in order to move forward.

I work with women who have recently experienced a traumatic event and help them return to a sense of normal. I also work with women who have experienced traumas in the distant past but who have been feeling chronically anxious, depressed, out of control and/or hopeless. Perhaps you cannot remember the last time you did not feel anxious or depressed. Or perhaps your body being in stress for so many years has created health issues. Or perhaps you have turned to compulsive behaviors to escape or numb the pain such as over drinking, over eating, perfectionism, codependency, dieting, binge watching TV and more.

Codependency Therapists

What therapy types help with codependency problems?

Both couples and family therapy and cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT) can help with the relationship difficulties referred to as codependency. Such problems typically include inappropriate feelings of responsibility for a loved one’s destructive behavior, irrational patterns of thinking about such behavior, and family interaction patterns in which the needs of one troubled member override the needs of others in a household.

What happens in therapy for codependency?

Spouses and family members learn and practice how to interact and support each other in a healthy way without sacrificing their own needs or well-being. They learn the limits of their responsibility for their loved ones and correct faulty patterns of thinking and feeling that underlie codependent behavior. Individuals may be encouraged to nurture an array of social relationships and to cultivate their own talents and interests so that they develop a healthy sense of self outside the family.

How does therapy help a person or couple overcome codependency?

Therapy helps people establish healthy ways of being in a relationship. Spouses and family members learn how to nurture and support one another without sacrificing their own needs or allowing the needs of one person to dominate the dynamic. Individuals learn how to say no and set boundaries, and how to maintain their own identity and self-esteem. Therapy helps people understand that they are not responsible for the feelings and actions of others. It also helps individuals deal with the turbulence that can come from living with a person suffering from such conditions as substance abuse and mental illness.

What is the goal of therapy for codependency?

One goal of therapy for codependency is to alleviate feelings of responsibility for and correct irrational patterns of thinking about loved ones whose behavioral problems override the needs of others in a household. Therapy helps people establish healthy boundaries of behavior and speak up for their own needs in a relationship. In addition, people learn how to maintain a healthy relationship, one in which both parties give and receive equally and are able to retain their own identity.
