I believe healing happens with a holistic integration of mind, body, and spirit. I support each person to express their authentic selves and needs, through several therapeutic modalities, including Expressive Arts, Somatic Techniques, CBT, EMDR, Parts Work, and Mindfulness. I am also trained in Brief Therapy methods for those who want support with a specific challenge or prefer therapy in small pieces at a time. My style is directive- I give feedback, ask questions to evoke clarity of where/how current maladaptive reactions/patterns came from, utilize reflective and active listening, and give weekly homework assignments.

Twenty-two years ago I cured my own chronic back, neck, shoulder and hip pain using Dr. John Sarno's mindbody approach. Since then I've helped many of my clients avoid unnecessary surgeries and treatments and overcome a broach range of chronic pain conditions. Emotionally induced pain disorders are so epidemic, it is very possible that your pain is not due to a physical cause. But I want to be clear: I'm not saying that it's all in your head! As I know personally, this is real pain. The issue is understanding what causes it and giving you the power to end it.

I am currently offering in-person and online individual sessions using expressive arts, mindfulness, neurofeedback, EMDR and Ketamine. Artistic expression may be done through an online collage program or with any materials you would like to use. This may include drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, music, movement, writing, photography, role play or any combination of these. The focus is on the creative process as a tool for transformation and manifestation, rather than on the quality of the product.

There is hope. I've worked with lots of folks who feel hopeless, anxious, upset, angry, or confused, and often their lives improve with positive support. My first goal in therapy is to listen with compassion and help build trust between us. We'll work in whatever way is comfortable for you, and when you're ready, we'll chart a course toward meaningful change. Whether I'm working just with you, or with you and your loved ones, I'll value each person's perspective and help look for positive solutions. To learn more me and about therapy, see my video "Why Go to Therapy?" at https://bit.ly/2UG9Aur

In my years of practice I have had the honor and opportunity to work with many kinds of people dealing with many kinds of challenges. Clients tell me they appreciate my style as a therapist: that I am supportive and motivating, caring and insightful, interactive and an attentive listener. I help people recognize and build on their strengths as they move through the challenges that prevent them from achieving what they want in their lives. I am compassionate and empathetic, knowledgeable and respectful. I like variety in my practice and enjoy working with individuals, families and couples of all ages.

Compassion and curiosity are the starting place for our exploration. Life is inherently challenging and difficult, and we all suffer from hurts large and small, past and present. And most of us are plagued by a strong inner critic who thinks they are helping but often shames and limits us. In spite of our best efforts, cycles of expectation and disappointment can leave us feeling confused, isolated, frustrated, and trapped in our habitual patterns. As Ta-Nehisi Coates put it, "I am marked by old codes, which shielded me in one world and then chained me in the next."

I’m forever rediscovering the power of intention. Simply devoting space every week to our inner growth fertilizes a mysterious process with its own trajectory. What we originally feel as pain in our lives may actually be a portal inviting us to love more deeply, live more freely, and be less like everyone else. I love sitting with sensitive individuals with intuitive abilities, unwieldy minds, and a wonderment about how to be their true selves on this bewildering planet because I never know what is going to unfold. I especially enjoy working with spiritual practitioners who want their insights to be wholly embodied in their lives.

Are you experiencing a personal difficulty, feeling stuck or overwhelmed? The seeds of change are often born in the midst of heartache and loss...
Navigating through the challenges of life can be disheartening. It takes courage to reach out when we are feeling vulnerable or when life as we know it seems to fall apart. Sometimes just having someone listen can make all the difference. In a safe and confidential atmosphere, clients tend to discover ways to move beyond past events -- making their life less cumbersome, with more moments of joy and satisfaction.

From a spiritual reality, I believe that we humans are "gems of inestimable value". Coming to therapy to learn about your own gem-like nature is an act of courage. I ask curious questions and wonder about non-verbal signals, so that you may safely explore the depth and breadth of your own nature. My background is in Process Oriented Psychology (with Jungian roots) and Developmental Psychology. I'm excited to include Internal Family Systems and Intimacy from the Inside Out. I'm passionate about helping you discover your inside parts and access your own Self energy to aid you in your healing journey
