Own your story. I specialize in working with women who have experienced trauma, grief, difficult life transitions, stress, anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem and are ready to take charge of their life narrative. Trust, authenticity, and vulnerability are vital components of the therapeutic process and I work hard to establish and maintain those values with clients. My heart for my clients is that they would feel the safety of being themselves while also being invited into growth and restoration of relationships.

I believe the purpose of therapy is to create a safe and validating environment where people can focus on creating a "life worth living". I help facilitate this journey by focusing on both acceptance and change in a warm, interactive and thoughtful fashion. If you are someone who is struggling to manage your emotions and behaviors because of anxiety, depression, or trauma we can work together to define the life you want and overcome the obstacles to it.

Taking only returning clients. For 30 years, I've successfully treated those suffering with the pain and frustration of depression, anxiety, grief, relationship issues, creative blocks, and life transitions (several of these overlap!). I earned my doctorate at UC Berkeley, and, in addition to my psychotherapy practice, taught clinical psychology at UCSC until 2018. Psychologists are ethically required to use demonstrated treatments for clients' backgrounds and difficulties. I'm fortunate to have trained in many effective therapeutic methods, tailored to each client's needs & personality. I'm available only via video/phone sessions.

I believe the most important element for positive change is the relationship between the therapist and client. If the client can truly trust their therapist, he or she can allow themselves to explore, heal, and integrate all aspects of themselves. This leads to a feeling of wholeness and relief from anxiety, depression, low self esteem, and other issues. I use intuition and compassion, in addition to my training and education. I care about my clients, and feel honored to witness their efforts to grow and change. Buddhist philosophy informs my overall orientation towards the enduring resilience of the human spirit.

Welcome, it takes courage to seek help when life’s challenges seem overwhelming. This process offers an opportunity for growth, healing, and self-discovery, as I assist you with connecting to your own wisdom and compassion. I can help you explore barriers to greater contentment, fulfillment, and joy, while increasing coping skills to manage life’s inevitable stressors. Some of the issues I work with include mood and anxiety concerns, trauma, grief/loss, stress, relationship issues, life transitions, LGBTQ+ issues, and healing from dysfunctional upbringings.

My therapeutic style is personal, respectful and practical. I can help you create and notice positive changes in your life and relationships and adapt to changing conditions as necessary. I'll work with you to achieve tangible results towards your goals in therapy. We'll focus on what works to notice positive change as it happens. Although I treat people with a wide range of issues, some areas of particular focus in my practice are: helping individuals and relationships that are affected by Chronic Physical Illness and/or Pain, Depression and Anxiety.
