I practice effective, culturally sensitive, relational therapy. I strive to understand my clients in the context of their relationships and broader society. No one lives in a vacuum, and often our challenges are connected to stuck relationship patterns, and dynamics of power and privilege that play out in our relationships, our workplace, and even within ourselves. I believe that the quality of the relationship between the therapist and client is one of the most important factors for your growth and healing. In my view, it is vital that you are believed, respected and compassionately understood.

Marriage and relationships are challenging and it is even harder to ask for what you want. Often people believe they are broken or their desires are shameful and I work to create change and facilitate communication. As a licensed psychotherapist, specializing in sex therapy, I work to help individuals, partners, and couples to connect. It is my passion to heal shame, have the hard talks, and facilitate communication. Personally, I know the challenges of maintaining the passion in a long term relationship and I don't believe it is normal to give up on intimacy.

I believe in the ability of the therapeutic relationship to resolve conflict and develop insight and positive change.
The challenges of today's world wear heavily on couples. What we believed counted may now seem undependable, even impossible to understand. Intimacy and relationships are stressed and additional conflict may be too much to handle. This is exactly the time to consider professional help. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist, a Diplomate in Clinical Sex Therapy and have analytic training as well as EMDR. My expertise blends psychodynamic, cognitive, and relational perspectives. A very powerful combination. I maintain a strong network of professional colleagues to provide the best integrative care ie/medical and holistic perspectives.

I believe in being authentic, creating a relationship where acceptance and trust is the foundation, and working as a partner to those with whom I meet so that they have the support and guidance to make the changes necessary to improve their quality of life.
I look forward to meeting you and discovering how we can work together to improve your experience of life! I see therapy as one way to prioritize yourself, try something different, and take a risk to address patterns that have not been working for you. My belief is that when you find someone with whom you can trust and who sincerely cares about you, you can then take the steps necessary to create the life you really want. I hope to be that person for you.

Sometimes we need a change in our lives, our relationships and ourselves, and we need help navigating how to do that. Sometimes the change happens to us, through loss and separation, and we need help getting through it. Whether change is something you want in yourself or your relationship, or you are grieving change life has thrown your way, processing in therapy can help. We do not have to navigate the challenges of life alone. Having someone come alongside with empathy and knowledge can be a light in the dark that illuminates the path forward.

I look forward to working together with you in an honest and open relationship to find relief, insight, and growth.
How do we regain balance after losing our footing? Whether through anxiety, anger, depression, fear, guilt or shame, it is normal for our lives to present challenges that throw us seemingly off course. At the same time, life’s greatest challenges can also present opportunities for growth, deep healing and the reintegration of lost parts of ourselves. In my work with clients, I provide a safe and supportive environment to express and explore challenging emotions, thoughts and beliefs and help them discover new vistas and vantage points from which to enjoy and appreciate themselves, their lives, and their relationships again.

Whether you're grappling with challenges in a romantic relationship, seeking to enhance communication with friends, bosses, or loved ones, or struggling with anxiety and depression, I’m here to create an inclusive space where every individual feels seen, heard, and valued.
Do you wake up feeling empty, with a sense of dread to take on the day? Are your negative thoughts about yourself, your life, and others around you keeping you stuck in a place you don’t want to be? Let’s talk. Life is too short and precious to be viewed through a prism of negativity and gloom. And suffering is not living. My general approach to therapy is to focus on the client’s strengths and seek solutions with positive reinforcement. I can work to help you access and strengthen your inner resources that are already there, even if you’re having trouble seeing it for yourself.

A reframed relationship-to-self is possible.
Perhaps you've come to believe that your whole self isn't welcome. Experiences of disconnect and conditionality might leave you feeling isolated and unseen. Maybe anxiety and shame have convinced you of an "other-ness" when these differences are, instead, essential clues into your own creativity and liberation. The right therapeutic relationship can allow for the retrieval of self and soul. I support individuals in developing meaningful insight into what may have been lost or left behind, honoring the fragmented pieces asking for reclamation. In the words of poet Paul Éluard, "there is another world, and it is in this one."

I help my clients rediscover a mind-body connection through movement, and I cultivate a safe space for clients to process challenging experiences and past hurts using a relationship-oriented approach.
I believe in the power of healing through authentic connection with trusted community. However, rather than allowing ourselves to share vulnerably with people in our lives, we silence ourselves due to the fear of being judged. We close ourselves off to connection and in doing so silence our authentic truth. While this tendency has protected us from unsafe people, we can get stuck in this game of pretending to be okay when we truly need support. This can lead to disconnection within ourselves and in our interpersonal relationships. I help people learn how to trust their intuition and use their vulnerability as a tool for connection.

In the therapeutic relationship we are able to explore, become curious and better understand the person and life that you want to have.
Reaching out is not always easy and it's the first step towards creating change. I have always believed we work to achieve success and happiness in the best ways we know how. There are times in our lives where we find ourselves short on solutions, or are ready to move forward. This is where I can be of help. I encourage everyone to talk with several therapists to get a feel if this is the right person for you. After talking with someone do you feel understood, do you feel that they can help.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
