I am an advocate for the soul’s desire for expansion and connection with others. I work in the service of the psyche to bring unconscious material to the conscious to facilitate sustainable change, transformation, and growth. I welcome you as you are, whether you are suffering from a dependency, such as problematic substance use, or a mental health condition, like trauma-related difficulties. I incorporate both the Twelve Step and harm reduction methods in my practice. Since I honor and see the value in both modalities, I will work collaboratively with you to determine which approach would best serve your path towards wholeness.

My years of experience have prepared me to work with individuals with trauma, PTSD, depression, stress and anxiety; facilitate anger management; teach problem solving skills; acting out behaviors; deal with issues of gender identity; couples issues; parenting issues; and learn from the past, focus on the present, and plan for the future.
Life challenges can motivate us to overcome obstacles and solve problems; but sometimes these challenges can slow us down and make us feel hopeless and helpless, worried, and unfulfilled. If you feel isolated and unable to function effectively in your daily life, allow me to work with you in finding the YOU within that can better manage emotional, behavioral and communication challenges. If you are experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, or low self-esteem, contact me for a consultation session. I look forward to being of service to you and join YOU in your journey.

I specialize in Early Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, and Women's issues.
Welcome. Are you perhaps feeling like you are not enough? Now is the time to address this feeling. I believe that everybody has it within themselves to feel worthy of fullfillment. I help people find the hidden obstacles that may be hindering their ability to shift out of this mentality. My goal is to empower people to become aware of hidden strengths, and awaken self-love and self-acceptance. You will learn to know why you feel the way you do, and come to an understanding of this on a biological level, as well as learning how you may be engaging in self-sabotage.

If you have already done talk therapy, and find yourself continuing to struggle with issues related to traumatic events in your past, EMDR is widely believed to be the number one treatment for trauma, in it’s ability to access and process these events, allowing you to move past them.
I believe in creating a nonjudgmental space where you can come as you are- not the perfect, polished version you may feel pressure to be in the world. Whether you are suffering from depression, anxiety, grief and loss, unresolved trauma, substance abuse issues, or challenges in relationships, I am here to provide a space to explore these issues and foster personal growth. I believe that you are the expert in your life, and I am there to provide the support and feedback you need to address life’s challenges, identify barriers, explore solutions, and help you achieve your goals.

I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Seeking Safety, and Triple P (Positive Parenting Program).
Sometimes in life we face situations that cause us to feel stuck, unsure of what to do, or a desire to seek insight and a better understanding of our true selves. Therapy can offer an opportunity to explore areas in which you may want to become more in touch with your authentic self, make changes or talk about difficult things that you're experiencing.

My approach to therapy is working with you to get you where you want to be. My goal is to provide help, hope and understanding in a warm and accepting environment. I am a talking therapist as much as I am a listening therapist. What that means is that I listen to the issues you bring; provide feedback and tools for change. I actively engage in conversation with you. A large part of our work is about filling your tool box with tools to create the change you want to see in your life.

Feeling "blue", anxious and too stressed? Relationship difficulties? As an experienced, trusted therapist, I am here to help. I can offer you both traditional "inside office" talk therapy and/or a unique "alternative" outdoors therapy- EQUINE ASSISTED PSYCHOTHERAPY. Because horses are so attuned to their environment, they provide extremely accurate feedback or "mirrors" for our human feelings and relational dynamics. Horses facilitate "mindfulness" and help people to QUICKLY learn more about about themselves leading to substantial change and healing. I offer individual, couples, family, group therapy and/or EAP.

Life is not like a box of chocolates. Life is like a roller coaster with ups and downs, highs and lows, successes and failures. Therapy is about navigating through it. Depression, Anxiety, Substance Abuse and Early Childhood Traumas interfere with everyday functioning and cause us to make decisions that do not serve us well. At one point, most of our unhealthy coping tools were survival skills. They were beneficial and warranted at the time but now interfere with creating a life worth living. It's time to challenge those outdated coping tools with more useful, practical and efficient ones.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
