I specialize in trauma and enjoy working with an array of therapeutic issues.
Difficulties in life can often result in unfulfilling/unhelpful circumstances or patterns of thoughts and behaviors. It is during these times, the times when you just feel "stuck," that gaining an understanding of the issue(s) at hand while enhancing life skills can increase your resilience. As a therapist, I work to empower my clients and facilitate conversations that help them gain a deeper understanding of their past, present or future concerns while exploring effective ways to foster lasting growth, healing and wellness.

I specialize in treating PTSD and complex trauma, and I offer spiritual guidance also.
On the outside you put on a good show for the world. Yet on the inside, you feel alone and broken. Never good enough. You suffer in agonizing silence, and you're terrified of the moment when everyone figures out you are a fraud. These feelings are very old and familiar because they come from your childhood experiences. And while you can't change the past, you CAN change your experience of the present. You can heal from old wounds. I know because I've walked that road and I know there is another side. In addition to traditional therapy I am certified in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) which can assist in your healing journey.

I specialize in supporting new and expecting families experiencing prenatal/postpartum depression and anxiety, birth trauma, and grief and loss, including pregnancy loss. The journey into motherhood invites us to experience intense love and joy, but it also touches our most raw and vulnerable parts. We may experience worries of not being good enough or fears of losing our identity. I understand how difficult it can be to take time for yourself when you feel overwhelmed and over-extended. But I also know that taking the time now to increase self-awareness can move you beyond survival and transform your experience of motherhood.

I work with a wide range of challenges, especially trauma.
Sometimes it's difficult to share what hurts inside. Maybe you've tried different tools, and things have not changed. That hurting may be preventing you from making decisions, connecting with others, or feeling like yourself ... I'd love to help you see through unresolved conflicts that are keeping you down. My approach is gentle, open, and curious. In our sessions, we'll build safety and we'll explore what hurts at your pace.

Using evidence-based practices and a trauma-informed perspective, I can help you develop an awareness and acceptance of trauma by exploring the why.
Do you feel stuck? Are you having trouble managing day-to-day worries and fears? Do you struggle with people pleasing? Saying yes when you want to say no? Often this creates anxiety, resentment, and dissatisfaction in our lives and relationships and can leave us feeling stuck and unfulfilled. We will work together to create insight to shift old patterns and behaviors that are keeping you from living the life you want. We will develop reliable tools to manage and improve painful emotions and stressful situations. If you are ready to find a new sense of confidence and meaning in your life then I am here to help you get there.

We all feel lost from time to time, but there’s always light at the end of the tunnel. I’ve been through my own therapy as a young adult when I was stuck in a bout of anxiety and panic attacks due to childhood trauma. Throughout my years of working with traumatized individuals, I learned first-hand about how childhood trauma can have a strong impact on adulthood. I can help you address unresolved trauma, in order for you to find passion, connection, and purpose in your life.

I have assisted individuals in overcoming issues that are connected to trauma, grief & loss, depression, general anxiety, social anxiety, new to parenthood, pre-marital issues, juvenile justice systems, oppositional teens, suicidal ideation and marital and family conflicts.
As a person of color born and raised in the Bay Area, I truly believe in my task and role as a therapist to reach those who feel as though their story is unheard and invalidated by the world we currently live in. My strengths as a therapist consist of gaining over nine years of experience working in the field of mental health as a mental health clinician under the non-profit realm and private practice within Santa Clara County. Over the course of my experience I have built skills in providing therapy to socioeconomically diverse families, children, individuals, couples, and those who identify with the LGBTQIA population.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
