Sometimes symptoms such as anxiety, depression, & reactivity knock at your door because there is no other way to tell you that getting help is necessary. You may experience feeling stuck in ways that don't match your own vision for your life. And, you may feel time going by with no significant healing or growth. Creating what you want can be hard to do alone. For 20+ years, I've helped clients move from states of overwhelm to grounding & ultimately self-actualization. My clients value my practical, active, attuned, warm and present style.

Do you want to reconnect with your partner or do you have issues with self esteem? I love working with couples or adult individuals. I offer traditional talk therapy or for those who are looking to overcome past painful events or trauma I use a technique called EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Couples I typically see would like to regain their connection to their partner. For this, I use EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy). Both techniques are highly researched and have shown evidence of client improvement. Please feel free to ask me more about my approaches to see if they would be a good fit for you!

Welcome, and here’s a bit about my practice! I am client-centered in training so therapy is about you and your goals, not mine. I strive to be honest, to “hold up a mirror" to help people get more clear on who they are and what they truly value. I have found that most benefit specifically from this pairing of therapeutic challenge and caring support. My passion is working with people who process differently, might identify as neurodivergent. This includes medical terms like ADHD, ASD, personality disorders, substance abuse, eating disorders, trauma, self-injury, bipolar disorders, etc. The goal is self-acceptance and empowerment!

Now accepting new clients! Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or just not feeling yourself lately, there is help. Sometimes our problems manifest in relationships issues, out of control emotions, or withdrawing from people and things we love. Perhaps you have tried to change these things on your own, but results are inconsistent or don't stick. Finding the root of the problem and creating new habits takes time and support, you don't have to do it alone!

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
