As a clinical social worker and therapist, I have worked with survivors of narcissistic abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, and childhood trauma.
I believe that everyone deserves to live a life that makes them excited to wake up in the morning. Unfortunately, many people live imprisoned in negativity brought upon by childhood trauma, abusive relationships, or toxic work environments. One of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your own story and take steps to create a life worth living. My goal is to provide a safe place to work through your pain to understand the patterns that have kept you feeling stuck and help you get on a path towards self-compassion, healthy relationships, and overall contentment.

I am a coach, not a licensed therapist. Divorce and attachment traumas can leave a lasting impact on one’s life, making it difficult to move forward and create a bright future. However, with the proper support and guidance, overcoming these obstacles and emerging stronger than ever is possible. That’s where I come in as an Attachment and Divorce Recovery Coach. With almost 15 years of experience studying the effects of abuse, loss, and unhealthy relationships, I bring knowledge and expertise to every coaching session.

My career has allowed me to work with an assortment of presenting issues, while focusing on substance use, trauma, personality disorders, anxiety, life transitions, academic performance, and chronic illness.
Life stressors and adverse experiences can become overwhelming. Many people find themselves in a place where they could benefit from some extra support. My goal is to explore with you what is holding you back from feeling more aware of and connected with the direction of your life. I provide a welcoming, non-judgmental space to help you discover inner wounds, wisdom, and healing.

I most enjoy working with clients who are willing to look within and accept responsibility (not blame) for their thoughts, feelings and behavior. I feel especially honored to work with clients who have had traumatic childhood experiences, including sexual abuse. Although these events can have devastating consequences, I have found that survivors of childhood trauma can also be catapulted to higher than usual levels of consciousness and well-being when the traumas are healed. In other words, therapy is a very gratifying journey to walk with a client. I work well with anxiety, depression, chronic pain, eating disorders and dissociative disorders.

I view therapy as a safe space where clients can feel empowered to share their stories as they experience them. My primary goal as a clinician is not to “fix” you, my goal is to support you on your internal journey as you cultivate the skills necessary to grow and heal in a conducive manner. My function as a clinician is to help clients navigate and dissect their stories as a way to help them understand the meaning behind their experiences. I always encourage my clients to come to therapy as they are and we will begin the therapeutic process from there. I DO NOT work with MINORS, COUPLES, and FAMILIES.

My specialties include, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety, trauma, interpersonal problems, and phase of life issues.
Therapy can be scary. I'm here to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment to more freely explore the things that are bothering you. I will help empower you on the path to figuring it out, and live a more authentic life. In addition to your own treatment goals, I try to build awareness of healthy boundaries with other people, things, and even yourself. My style is very client centered, and although I primarily utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), my therapeutic approach varies depending on the needs of my client. You're in the driver's seat, and we can take this as fast or slow as you want to.

My post-graduate studies have focused on the best practices that offer relief to pain, suffering, trauma, and overwhelm.
Welcome. If you’re here, likely something is going on in your life that you would like to change. Perhaps you’re overwhelmed, sad, anxious, tired, in pain, on edge, bingeing on a substance or the internet, or having sleep issues. Trouble communicating with loved ones? Disconnected rather than connected? Maybe you can’t quite put your finger on it, but life just isn’t what it was, what you thought it would be, or what you would like. Anger, sadness, anxiety, disappointment, worry all play a part in everyone’s life, but sometimes it increases to the point where it’s just too much to handle alone.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
