Would you like your teen or child to learn how to manage difficult feelings or change? Many youth are dealing with depression, stress, and anxiety. I specialize in teaching fun tools to manage negative thoughts/feelings in order to feel more empowered and confident in life! These self awareness skills help your child to enjoy more healthy relationships with family and their peers. Your child will learn how to apply a positive growth mindset perspective that they may use the rest of their lives. I enjoy collaborating with parents and also have vast experience working with adults (and their inner child) to reach their goals too!

While you may have been struggling for a long time, you are ready to examine the life you’re living, get curious about patterns you used to take for granted, and pause in moments of discomfort to wonder what it means to be you. You want therapy that weaves together talking, pausing in mindfulness and connecting with sensations. You may question the systems around you, and wonder about different patterns you might be holding. You may have a reverence for the mysterious, esoteric and dreamlike, while also working to stay grounded in the here and now.

Maybe you're feeling overwhelmed with college life or work, struggling with depression, anxiety, or trauma, feeling isolated or misunderstood in relationships, having difficulties with parenting, dealing with the aftermath of psychiatric hospitalization, or considering a leave of absence from school. We believe healing and change happen in relationships; it doesn't require a diagnosis from me—your experience is what matters. It’s about creating a safe, person-centered, anti-oppressive, and non-judgmental space where we share the journey with empathy and solidarity, working together to find strength and resilience. You are not alone.

Sex. Identity. Relationships. Gender. These are hard things to talk about, let alone show and share with the people you need most to understand you. Together we create a collaborative relationship where you feel comfortable exploring all elements of your life in a safe, judgment-free environment. My counseling practice is dynamic and engaging, a place where we can bring humor and healing to the painful parts. I bring 15 years of experience with sexuality issues and clinical counseling together to create an atmosphere where you will be seen as a unique individual with goals worthy of achieving.

My focus is on assisting those clients with issues they need greater support on, grief, chronic illness, chronic pain and Highly Sensitive Persons (HSP). The misunderstood nature of health issues such as fibromyalgia, lupus, headaches, can lead to disruption in clients' lives and relationships, and grieving the healthy self is not unusual. HSPs experience the world with a heightened perspective, often finding interactions and sensory stimulation difficult as well as health challenges. Navigating such a world often requires more support and validation, which psychotherapy can provide.

If you’re experiencing anxiety or trauma, I can help. Trauma, particularly from early childhood can have a deep impact on your self-esteem, relationships and functioning. You may struggle with perfectionism, people pleasing or codependency. Your nervous system may be dsyregulated which can lead to feeling flooded with emotions and or exhausted. This can lead to adaptions which may have serious consequences. Some interventions I use with clients include EMDR, Internal Family Systems, somatic therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance Commitment Therapy. Which interventions are based on your preferences and fit.

For over 20 years I have been supporting people through difficult times. Talking together in ways which nurture curiosity and compassion, we will look at what troubles you, what brings you hope. We will be attentive to the past, and any past traumas, and yet our focus will be on how the past's legacy is impacting your life now. Whatever you are up against––feelings of anxiety, depression, low self-worth, shame, loneliness–– we will work together to unburden you of past pains and to create a greater sense of calm, ease, and connectedness in your life.

Figuring out who you want to be and how you want to live is a huge undertaking. It’s even harder to do while depressed, anxious, recovering from trauma, or grappling with your mental health. Add in the after-effects of a global pandemic, climate change, systemic and interpersonal racism, threats to reproductive rights and LGBTQI rights as well as to our democracy, and an uncertain economic future? What’s there to feel good about? I hold out hope that you can create something beautiful and satisfying out of your experiences, even in the face of a traumatic past and uncertain future.

Many people come to therapy uncertain of how they got here. They're hungry for deeper meaning in life, to understand their inner world and discover a self they can love. You may have experienced narcissistic wounding as a child, feel caught in self-destructive patterns or low self esteem. Perhaps you yearn for meaning and a sense of belonging. Your life may feel marred by co-dependency, anxiety, shame or hopelessness. Maybe you just need a place to feel seen. Our work together can help you uncover your deepest needs and teach you to regard yourself with compassion and self-awareness.

We all need special attention at times in our lives. Working on emotional problems by yourself can be hard, even when you have support in your life. If you are feeling lost, overwhelmed or are searching for self-understanding, therapy is an excellent choice. Just as finding the deeper meaning in suffering may be important, sometimes simply solving day to day practical issues is as well. Either way, the value of inner work far exceeds what we can imagine.

Parenting is difficult especially when your child is suffering. For the past 10 years I have worked with children, adolescents and parents/caregivers who feel stuck, frustrated, and overwhelmed. Parents often reach out because their child is exhibiting anxiety, intense tantrums, negative self-talk, and chronic irritability. I provide a warm, nonjudgmental, and playful environment to deeply understand your child’s behavior. Together we will develop strategies that promote your child’s resilience, flexibility, and confidence. Even in the trickiest of parenting moments we will find clarity and develop practical strategies.

I am glad you found your way here! From our first contact, I focus on creating safety and trust in a therapeutic relationship. We need non-judgmental space to build insight into ourselves- our habits and patterns- and make desirable changes. The goals are honorable- to improve our relationships (with ourselves and with others) and to flourish more in our lives, finding more fulfillment on our journeys. I will be there, with compassion and curiosity, helping uncover how deeper memories, beliefs, and feelings shape your current relationship dynamics, way of moving through life, and perceptions of the world.
