If you are struggling with sexual concerns, you have come to the right place. Some sexual concerns may include: low/high sexual desire, desire discrepancy, a sexless relationship, sexual difficulties (e.g. painful sex, early/delayed ejaculation), sexual trauma, rebuilding emotional and sexual intimacy, and unhealthy relationship patterns. Or perhaps you are struggling with compulsive sexual behaviors. You have realized that your sexual thoughts and behaviors are getting out of control, or you have discovered that your partner is compulsively using sex or porn. You are feeling understandably betrayed, angry, and overwhelmed.

You try to be a good person and want more from life yet sometimes it feels like you're just going through the motions. You're functioning, but there's always that voice—the one telling you that you’re not good enough, don’t deserve love, peace or happiness, deserved what happened to you, and that this is it in life. Your unresolved “stuff”– the anxiety, self-doubt, trauma–keeps popping up at the most inconvenient time and causing you trouble. Relationships are hard. You can’t really relax. Anger eats at you. You’re tired of feeling “stuck" and uneasy in your own mind and body. What you really want is to finally feel at peace.

My particular expertise and interest is in working with survivors of trauma, abuse and victimization. Having survived trauma, abuse and victimization can lead to a variety of outcomes. Some people survive trauma with no problems at all, while other people develop anxiety, depression, substance use, personality or relationship issues. Various traumatic events, such as parental divorce or substance abuse, are very common even in middle class populations and have often both physical and psychological effects many years after the experienced trauma.

I will help you get to know yourself again, and take back control of your life. Someone who suffers from anxiety can feel trapped, and feel they can't see there way out. They struggle with constant worries, overthinking, and tend to avoid situations in hopes that the anxiety will decrease just to feel a little bit better. My ideal clients are those that are seeking results in decreasing their anxiety by learning skills such as relaxation, mindfulness, and even setting a routine to help one have more structure in their life. Anxiety does not have to be debilitating, and one can learn to manage their anxiety with the right tools.

Our lives—and the lives of our family and friends—are often challenged by issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction, anger, loss and grief. And we are often so pressured by the demands of everyday life that we struggle to simply get through each day. While our relationships with others can be sources of great love and support, they are often sources of our deepest pain. Through the process of therapy, we can come to better understand the roots of our suffering, heal emotional wounds and strengthen our relationships with ourselves and others.

Integrative Therapists
What is integrative therapy?
Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.
How does integrative therapy work?
Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behavior patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.
How long does integrative therapy last?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.
How effective is integrative therapy?
There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
