Life sometimes throws us a curve ball. Daily life struggles and stress that we have normally handled with relative ease can suddenly seem overwhelming. Too much stress and the inability to handle it properly can begin to undermine our potential to enjoy our work and to care for ourselves and others. Finances, parenting, relationships, school, care taking, health concerns, and loss can be stressful aspects of life. When we begin to internalize these external stressors it can lead to depression, anxiety, anger, addiction, poor health, phsysical/emotional exhaustion and relationship problems.

I address grief, sadness, anger and anxiety that result from life-changing situations.
I see each of my clients as far more complex and resilient than a diagnosis can define. I believe that a person experiencing disorienting life events can benefit from a therapist knowledgeable about the intense and chronic nature of their symptoms. I have many years of experience providing therapy targeted at relieving emotional overwhelm and preventing mental and physical exhaustion.

With expertise in relaxation techniques, anger management, and problem-solving, I'm here to help you find your equilibrium.
Frederick Douglass once noted that progress often arises from struggle. It's not merely the existence of challenges, but how we navigate them, that molds our journey forward. Do you ever feel stuck, facing persistent obstacles in life's various domains? Moments of anger, frustration, or hopelessness may arise, perceived as unwelcome aspects you'd rather conceal. But remember, you're not alone. These struggles are integral to your journey, and seeking support is the first step towards growth.

As a Psychologist and Marriage and Family Therapist I have a unique approach to understanding both family dynamics and individual struggles such as anxiety, depression, stress, parenting etc. I focus on brief, solution focused therapy, therapy that works! Therapy and the needs of people that present for therapy have changed and you need a Psychologist/Therapist that understands the unique demands and challenges of today's world. I know that most people don't have the time or money to invest in years of therapy and getting nowhere. I combine Therapy and Life Coaching to build a treatment plan that addresses all your needs.

I provide you with the tools to create a better, stronger and a more fun marriage! I am solution focuses and goal driven, giving you the results you need now not over years of therapy. Traditional couples counseling focuses way too much on re-hashing conflict, and not enough on the tools to navigate conflict.

There's no rewind button in life, but it offers you the chance to create a different ending from where you stand today. It takes courage to acknowledge that where you are right now isn't where you want to be. It's an act of bravery to face the obstacles and challenges that may have held you back, whether they're related to your personal life, career, or societal pressures. But remember this: within you lies the strength to persevere, to rise above adversity, and to shape your destiny. With each step you take, no matter how small, you're forging a path towards a brighter and more fulfilling future. Embrace your inner resilience!

Do you feel like there's a piece of you that's foggy? Is there a feeling so destructibly comforting that it's hard to pull away? Do you ever feel like wallpaper in a crowded room? Do the screams from your dreams keep you up at night, follow you in the morning, and sing off key during the day? Is life confusing, weird, and just too painful? Let's talk about it. Scream about it. Write about it. Cry about it. Hug plushies while we laugh about it. Whatever it is that you need in order to experience that release. My philosophy is that each and every human being has a unique and powerful story to tell. Lets hear your next chapter.

I have over 20 years of experience as a therapist. I truly understand how difficult it can be to ask for help. Many feel uncomfortable & anxious when seeking help from a counselor about such sensitive & personal issues. It takes courage and faith to reach out. I believe together we will find real solutions to your struggles.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.
How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.
Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.
What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
