If you are seeking a deeper understanding of why you or your child struggles with focusing or learning, then I can help clarify what is getting in the way of reaching one's full potential. You may wonder if there is a name for the difficulty (e.g., is it dyslexia? ADHD?) or you may be unsure if having such a name would be helpful. More importantly, you are wanting a better sense of the strengths and weaknesses that you or you child have and what strategies and interventions would be most helpful.

Rejection Hurts. Miscommunication leads to misunderstandings and hurt feelings – often feeling disrespected and taking things personally. • Are you ‘filling in the blanks’ with guesses about someone's meaning? • Do feelings of rejection turn into self-blaming, shaming and self-rejection? • Is resentment growing in your work or personal relationships, barely leaving room for connection or intimacy? • If you are ADHD you likely know how rejection sensitivity affects you.• Consider how you'll benefit from practicing respectfully direct communication and effective checking-out skills? • Let's tap into and enhance your resilience!

You met someone; you fell in love…is it time to build a family together? What about all the fights you have been having recently? Now you are a mother/father, juggling childcare, professional development, housework… what about US? What about ME? How to teach our kids when we don’t even agree? Things are not working out; Shall we give it one last try before separating? My partner wants to open up the relationship/marriage. What does it even mean?

If you are going through a time in which you are feeling stuck or overwhelmed, it is courageous to find the strength to reach out and make an investment in yourself and your future with therapy. I believe in the resiliency of the human spirit, as we all have the potential answers to improving our lives but often need someone to offer us the reflective space to think differently in order to shift our experiences. That may mean exploring the past to understand or accept what has happened, but it is always in service of improving your present & future.

As a depth psychotherapist, I am deeply committed to helping individuals explore the underlying currents of their inner world. I believe that true healing involves delving beyond surface-level symptoms to uncover the unconscious patterns of belief and emotion that shape our experience. My approach is rooted in the principles of depth psychology, emphasizing the importance of understanding the psyche's complex layers and the transformative power of bringing the unconscious to consciousness.

Life can be hard... and we don’t have to do it alone. I work with couples to strengthen connection, deepen intimacy, rebuild trust after betrayal, and find their voice within the relationship. I work with individuals around issues of anxiety, depression, grief, self esteem, relationships, and parenting. My own challenges, and the work I have done to heal, have afforded me the ability to be present and sit with people in their own pain. I have a natural inclination to seek out deep connection with people which has aided my ability in guiding my clients to deepen connections with others,

In my work, I see each person as unique, with their own history and complex personality, including strengths and challenges. My clinical approach is based on the fundamental truth that our emotions are how we meaningfully engage with the world, and with others, yet our feelings can sometimes hold us back when we don’t understand them or know how to navigate them. In therapy, we will to help you better understand yourself. Doing so can change how you relate to others, how you feel about yourself, and how you function in the world.

I’m devoted to helping people figure out how they feel—and what to do—about what matters most in their lives. My job is to accept and support you as you are, without judgment. I want to understand your world as YOU see it. I'll listen to the stories you carry around in your head, and whether they're kind, whether they serve or oppress you.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
