I have primarily worked with children, adolescents, and their families for the past 20 years in mental health, residential and school settings. Prior to that, I worked for a domestic violence, rape crisis, and child abuse center where I worked with survivors and their families in various capacities, including group and individual counseling, crisis intervention, and victim advocacy. This has provided a great deal of experience working with trauma and related issues, such as depression and anxiety in adults and children. It also has given me the opportunity to see families grow and make positive changes in their lives after adversity
Typically, my focus in therapy is on teaching clients cognitive-behavioral strategies. This is an abbreviated way to say that I talk with people about their thoughts, feelings, and behavior so we can work together to find ways to resolve problems they may be experiencing.
I am conveniently located in Florence within an hour's drive of Darlington, Marion, Dillon, Chesterfield, Marlboro, Lee, Clarendon, Sumter, & Williamsburg counties. I offer evening & Saturday appointments. I also provide educational workshops on various topics for parents or other groups. I enjoy getting out of the office to collaborate with others!
