Hi, my name is Carolyn Montoya. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have had the honor and privilege to work with children, adolescents and adults for much of my career. My first job in the field was as a substance use counselor. This significant path in my career illustrated for me that vulnerability is brave and holding space for others is delicate and sacred ground. I then transitioned to work in school settings, which has been my career home for many years and where pieces of my heart will always reside. In addition to my work in the schools, I have worked with adults as a therapist.
I have experience working with neurodiversity, LGBTQ+communities, play based therapy, internal family systems therapy, mindfulness for stress reduction, DBT, narrative therapy, transitions and loss, neurodiverse affirming therapy- and weave trauma informed care in all of my sessions.
Therapy is an offering, an invitation to authentic connectedness- an invitation for more peace and self- acceptance within ourselves. I am affirming of all individuals and hold safe spaces where all beautiful humans are welcome and have a right to exist just as they are!
