With over 40 years’ experience in the mental health field, I bring a lot of maturity and common sense to your therapy experience. I have worked in various aspects in the mental health field throughout my career that include individual, group, couples counseling, crisis intervention and working with the more persistent and long term mental ill population. My experience also includes individual and program supervision of adult, and child and family therapists.
While living in Oregon I enjoyed organizing and managing a very successful behavioral chronic pain management program. My years of experience later led to promotion as Clinical Director of a large mental health agency. While I am currently a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Iowa, I have also been licensed in the states of Washington and Oregon.
In addition to work, I am also raising two grandchildren which helps me be personally attuned and connected to issues that accompany parenting. As a hobby I am a semi-professional songwriter and have over a dozen songs that have been released on various popular streaming platforms. I am currently working primarily with adults 18 and over.
