I acknowledge the complexity of people as physical, social, psychological, and spiritual persons. All individuals and families experience crisis to some degree. It is my desire to support parents, guardians, non-professional care-givers, and families with spiritual truth and psycho-social insights helping them to improve their relationships and effectiveness in their roles and families. This is supported by helping to improve relationships, understand what one really wants, to understand choices and direction, and empowering them to take action. I believe that improvement is most possible when the whole system is involved.
We face a culture that presses us to conform to standards that are contrary to our true internal values. I'm committed to supporting families and individuals to navigate this cultural minefield, to help improve their relationships, and move to personal wholeness, interpersonal competence, mental stability, and spiritual maturity.
Trained in Critical Incident Stress Management and acknowledge that PTSD can occur through less traumatic experiences that accumulate over time. I have worked with children and adolescents in the foster care system who were severely emotionally disturbed with duel diagnosis, and their families, and also children placed in group homes.
