If you grew up in an alcoholic, abusive, or dysfunctional family unit, then you’ve most likely learned to survive and make it through some dark days using maladaptive coping strategies (ie - perfectionism, second-guessing yourself, overthinking, hypervigilance, workaholism, procrastination). These adaptive strategies helped you survive and get your needs met. Now that you’re an adult, we can help you learn healthy ways of coping.
This is where EMDR therapy intensive work can be so powerful! We identify the thoughts, feelings, and body sensations that have been distressing & overwhelming for you. We will resolve these distressing symptoms through the EMDR therapy process & then develop safe, calm, and positive beliefs to instill. You CAN learn to trust yourself & overcome the past.
I enjoy helping my clients see their own worth, value, and potential; as well as, championing their strengths and helping them overcome self-doubt, shame, fears, past wounds, and unresolved core issues.
