I am licensed clinical psychologist and school psychologist working with preschool children through adults. Clients who usually fit well with me have often reached a point of thinking that enough-is-enough, whether that is problem behaviors with a child, teens who are anxious/irritable/depressed, college students who are having major life changes, or adults who are having work or personal difficulties. I particularly specialize in the treatment of Trauma & Stress-Related Disorders. Clients who allow me to look out for them the way they do for their friends/family often find our work together to be helpful.
I enjoy the trust building that happens with clients. Learning to see the world the way they have experienced it, and then offering skills and strategies to find the most real version of themselves. Seeing the wave of relief or pride that comes from understanding themselves or someone else in more accurate and helpful ways, is what keeps me loving my work.
My work is first and foremost relational, whether that is your relationship with yourself, your child or parents, or other important people (and pets) in your life. I appreciate that what shows up as symptoms at one time, has likely been helpful before, and could be adjusted to be helpful again. Therapy won't always be comfortable, and you won't be alone.
