To decide and take the step toward seeking a counselor is an extremely difficult and courageous one, and here you are. Counseling to me is a collaborative and holistic process. I walk with you and help you to identify your challenges, and pain, as well as finding peace, relief, joy, pieces of you that may be lost and self acceptance. Life is difficult, as we all experience, and having a counselor on your side can assist you in finding your authentic self and reach your goals. Through life's many transitions, barriers, and successes, as as well as past trauma, I hope to help you in this.
I have worked in a variety of settings and use an integrative approach. Most often I am using cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavior, and acceptance and commitment therapy, as well as strengths based. The approach taken depends on you and your individual needs, challenges, and goals. In all interactions, I practice from a trauma informed space.
I believe that you are resilient, have the strength to heal, and you are the expert of your narrative. I strive to develop trust, create a safe space, for self exploration and discovery, release maladaptive coping skills, and heal, in order to reach your authentic self, and goals.
