I work with clients of all ages who are experiencing emotional distress or having trouble coping with daily functioning due to depression, anxiety, trauma, or grief and loss. I also work with clients who may be struggling with significant life transitions or attachment issues. I have a special interest in working with adolescents and young adults, and have had extensive training on childhood trauma, as well as the root causes of and best interventions for treating mental health issues in our youth. I'll meet you where you are with empathy and compassion, and work to build a therapeutic, trusting relationship with you.
I use a person-centered and person-in-environment approach with her clients. This includes various treatment modalities such as CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy and Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) to help clients understand, challenge and change negative beliefs, unhealthy thought patterns and maladaptive behaviors.
