Together the client and I chart a treatment plan that supports the client in using their skills and my knowledge. I am currently working with PTSD and the effects of early trauma on adult functioning. I am also now able to offer LCSW supervision for licensure in the state of Virginia. My experience includes general mental health, workplace issues, marriage counseling, adolescent issues, schools issues, and drug and alcohol assessment and treatment.
I use different treatment modalities as needed. Together we will determine what best answers your needs. Eclectic treatment modalities include developing awareness and understanding of situations and relationships, self-understanding and awareness of behavior choices. Internal Family Systems, AEDP, and EMDR inform my work. I work closely with a medication provider when medication is indicated.
My focus is helping you to use your strengths with the support of my training and knowledge to construct a path to assist you in meeting your needs. My practice is a collaborative one in which you set the pace and the goals.
