Therapy requires involvement of and trust between clinician and client during and between sessions and asks questions or presents issues that may be difficult to discuss. Uncomfortable or unfamiliar emotions may arise, and exploration can lead to reduction in distressing feelings and greater understanding of one's experience, which many people experience as highly rewarding.
A sex therapist is a licensed mental health professional trained to provide psychotherapy, working collaboratively in an active, focused manner on issues of a sexual nature. Seeking support for such issues can feel daunting; I believe that there is strength in vulnerability and I applaud your courage in reaching out.
In my role as a sexuality educator, I offer classes, presentations, and workshops on all topics of sexual health and wellness, reproduction, sexual responsibility and healthy relationships to school groups, parents, families and community groups. These are always developmentally appropriate and customized to suit the needs of the audience.
