I believe that healing can happen through the process of empathic and supportive counseling. I work with mood issues, personality disorders, grief, substance use and more. I utilize a culturally sensitive and holistic psychodynamic style of therapy. This approach encourages development in all areas of life, and pays special attention to unconscious factors, childhood upbringing, trauma, and cultural identity (race, religion, sexuality, gender, disability, etc). I am currently accepting clients for group therapy, that will combine the sport/art of crew rowing with group talk therapy. This is a powerful way of feeling connection.
My therapy theory and style is applicable to people from nearly any cultural background. I have unique expertise in multicultural issues and place great value on working with people from any race, ethnicity, religious background, age, and culture.
In addition to general therapy, I specialize in affirmative therapy for people from sexual orientation and gender identity minority groups. I am experienced working with individuals from all areas of the LGBTQIA+ umbrella and also routinely write recommendation/referral letters for transgender and gender diverse hormones and surgeries.

Groups
Mindfulness and Mental Health through Rowing
This is an going small group that uses rowing as a primary tool for mindfulness, mood regulation, and social connection. You will learn to row on indoor rowing machines for about 45 minutes, and then engage in group talk therapy for 45. We also row on the water when its warm. One benefit of rowing is that it requires cognitive focus and attention to one’s body, builds focus, mental health, and fitness. Athleticism is not required, this group is accessible for almost all abilities. All are welcome! Especially LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and Veterans
