Anxiety is the worst. It shows up in the most inconvenient times, and will kick into high gear when doing mundane things like driving someplace new, or speaking in front of a classroom or at a meeting. Anxiety can make us judge ourselves cruelly (I can't believe I said that!) question our choices (did I choose the wrong career? Choose the wrong partner?) and can make us sick to our stomachs, literally. If you're like me, you've tried a bunch of things to get rid of the anxiety. Some of those things work for a while, but the anxiety tends to comes back, and sometimes it comes back worse than before!
While there's no quick fix to get rid of anxiety, research shows that consistent therapy can help manage anxiety in a healthy and sustainable way. I specialize in treating anxiety and anxiety related issues, like depression, life transitions, trauma and parenting. I have training in numerous evidence based modalities, such as ACT, EFT and CBT.
Asking for help is hard. Realizing that life and relationships are not what you want them to be, that's really hard. I can't promise that your anxiety and pain will go away, but I can promise that you won't have to face it alone. In our work together, we'll explore what means to live a rich and meaningful life, and what steps you can take to get there.
