I begin helping you, or you and your partner, from an understanding that growth and change can be both scary and exciting. I meet my clients wherever they are, and work with them in a non-judgmental and supportive manner to build a life of meaning, both in relationship to themselves and in relationship to others.
My approach to individual therapy is integrative, collaborative, and derived from research-based models of therapy. I help individuals in ways that integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. In couples counseling, I integrate both the Gottman Method and Emotionally-Focused Therapy
My goal is to help you trust your thinking and feeling, understand your needs/wants, find a sense of belonging, connect to a sense of safety, and get more in touch with your authentic self. Successful therapy means that an individual or couple learns to better cope with the stresses of life through embracing flexibility, curiosity, and courage.
