One of things I enjoy about my work as a psychologist, is the privilege of engaging in substantive discussion each day. I am passionate about my work and engaging clients in the process of transformation. I have been described as warm, friendly, and inviting. I typically work with professionals struggling with anxiety and depression. I do a lot of work with men surrounding issues pertaining to men's health and spiritual formation. I also work with couples/marriages and derive great satisfaction in helping people develop greater relational health.
I practice from a blended approach, incorporating the best of insight-oriented and cognititve behavioral traditions. I favor practical interventions and will often assign readings/writing to leverage the time between sessions. When working with couples, I love all things Gottman related, as this is scientifically rigorous and immensely practical.
Additionally, I practice EMDR therapy and find it useful for healing from trauma and areas where clients experience "being stuck." I have also used EMDR to improve perfomance. I am welcoming to all and can practice from a faith-based perspective if desired. I am affiliated with the Wellspring Group.
