Many clients would prefer a deeper understanding of the symptoms they or their child experiences. Underlying each condition are patterns of information which are particular to each person's brain, and are identifiable through neuropsychological evaluation and neuroimaging using qEEG. Understanding how your brain functions provides you with choices for treatment which otherwise may not exist. I believe that an evidence based approach to treatment which begins with a thorough evaluation is the first step in helping clients achieve a positive therapeutic outcome. Having dual training in clinical and neuropsychology, Dr. Tignor can provide a wide range of traditional and alternative treatment options. .
Neurofeedback combined with CBT therapy can improve attention, reduce anxiety, and enhance learning and self-esteem. Neurofeedback is an evidence-based treatment which has been effectively used alternatively or in conjunction with medication to treat a number of neurologically based conditions including Lyme Disease, Post-concussion syndrome, various forms of Migraine, and Traumatic Brain Injury.
Dr. Tignor has Diplomate status in Clinical Psychology and in the use of quantitative EEG for analysis and treatment of a wide range of emotional and neurologically based issues. She is a BCIA Seinior Fellow in neurofeedback and provides consultation and supervision to other psychologists and physicians internationally, and parent-teacher workshops locally.
