I look forward to working with clients that are motivated to make a change in themselves and dedicated to the therapeutic process. I want counseling to be a warm, accepting, and open-minded experience for my clients and it is a goal I always strive for. I believe to make lasting progress in therapy, it is important to establish a strong therapeutic relationship with the client through genuine understanding, empathy and unconditional positive regard. I have experience working with individuals presenting with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, sexuality concerns, school and life changes, and acute and chronic trauma.
I approach counseling through a Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) lens. Together we will look at patterns in your thinking and how that affects how you think and act. However, I often will pull in techniques from other theories that may fit you more individually, as each person comes to this space bringing different parts of themselves and I want to honor that.
Whether in person or through telehealth, I strive to create a warm, inviting, and safe space to begin your journey in counseling.
