Life transitions can be harder than we expected. Maybe you are not handling life’s challenges as well as you had hoped. Maybe you are navigating these issues on top of a history of trauma or adverse childhood/life experiences. I have 25+ years of experience and can help with such issues as: Working through trauma/PTSD, parenting challenges, becoming a new parent or an empty nester, transitioning to adulthood, caring for aging parents and developing healthy relationships. I provide a compassionate, down-to-earth and non-judgmental approach to help you feel comfortable, validated and gently challenged during the therapeutic process.
I am an EMDR trained therapist. EMDR uses your brain's natural healing ability and allows you to process through traumatic and distressing memories or future worries and helps you find relief from intrusive memories stemming from abuse and trauma. I also utilize family systems, cognitive-behavioral (CBT), person-centered, and solution-focused approaches.
It is important to find a counselor who is the right fit for you. Building a supportive and collaborative therapeutic relationship with a client can help reduce internal distress and initiate the healing process.
