I work to help adults, children and couples make adjustments in their lives so they are more comfortable and in control of their behaviors and emotions. I have a genuine desire to get to know my clients and understand the difficulties they are experiencing. My therapy combines psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral approaches. I have particular interests helping people who are dealing with issues of depression, anxiety, health concerns, relationship problems, parenting difficulties, substance abuse, ADHD or school performance. Along with work as a psychologist, I have worked as a special education teacher which enhances my understanding of special needs children.
As a psychologist I have worked in medical settings helping people adjust to health issues in their lives. My experiences as a teacher in day treatment programs for chemical dependency and mental health issues give me unique insight about the impact of these issues on school performance and familiy relationships.
My goal as a therapist is to respectfully assist people to make positive changes in their lives and in their relationships. I hope to effect change by building trusting relationships which will allow individuals to develop insight and find solutions to problems they are experiencing in their lives.
