Psychotherapy is a helpful way to get relief from stress and suffering while at the same time finding meaning and purpose. As a licensed psychologist, I work with my clients to help them understand their emotions, relationships, and thinking patterns so that they will be able to face new challenges and make sense of past experiences. I work to create a relationship in which you will feel comfortable sharing. During our meetings I will pay careful attention to what you say and how you say it. Through curiosity, noticing patterns, and using humor we will work together to navigate the challenges you are facing.
Many of my clients are professionals experiencing conflicts in their lives which they have trouble resolving on their. I often work with men who find it difficult to open up to their friends and family about their conflicts, stressors, and emotions.
I grew up in Western Maine and now live on the coast. Before transitioning to private practice I was a professor and trained graduate student therapists. I've worked with people from a variety of backgrounds and I look forward to getting to know you. I am very curious to learn about your life and to help you face the challenges you are experiencing.
