Barry has been a counselor for 29 years and he has worked primarily with adults in various situations. He specializes in helping persons achieve recovery from substance abuse and from process addictions including sex and love addictions. His special skill is to help persons identify meaning in their lives so that they can cope with the suffering and challenges of adult living. He has worked as a counselor in various settings, including prisons, juvenile detention centers, shelters for homeless persons, and outpatient community-based clinics.
Barry has both a Master of Science Degree and also a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Rehabilitation Counseling from Springfield College. He uses cognitive behavioral therapy to help people correct the thinking errors that are the foundation for many of their problems.
