I think therapy is a process, a journey. It's important to have a comfortable traveling companion, one who listens carefully without judgment and with whom you feel safe and nurtured as you explore those issues that are keeping you from being your whole, authentic, and joyful self. I work with individuals, couples and families who are seeking growth and connection in both their inner lives and in relationships. I have extensive experience treating sexual abuse, loss, depression, anxiety, and trauma.
I have a broad background in a variety of client-centered treatment modalities to help you process your issues. These include (among others) journaling, art, sand tray, EMDR, working with dream symbols, and the practice of Mindfulness. My job is to hold a safe space for you to grow into yourself.
I have been a Marriage and Family Therapist for 30 years, 20 of them in Hawaii. I am an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and mentor post-graduate aspiring MFTs in both group and individual supervision. I have a comfortable, nurturing, private office in Waimanalo very near the beach for your after-session walks.
