It is powerful to feel heard, experience genuine connection, and to be understood. I currently accept clients from ages 11-25 for individual and family sessions. I have worked in various settings such as group homes, psychiatric hospitals, and school-based services prior to becoming a licensed therapist. This has provided opportunities to work with ranging needs and issues, but also acknowledging systems in place that increase challenges.
Therapy can seem daunting, but it can also provide a sense of relief and hope. It’s ok to be struggling and it’s ok to ask for help. Our ability to establish a trusting therapeutic relationship will act as our base to begin taking on new challenges, tolerating vulnerability, and working towards a life that is full of authenticity and safety.
