I provide counseling to individuals 14 years +, couples, and families who want to improve their connection with self and those they are in relation to. I believe that family systems, our relationships, how we see and what we expect of ourselves and others, are at the core of our "issues". It is our relationship to our "issues" and not the "issue" itself, that causes us difficulties in our every day life. I will work beside you as you uncover your authentic self and realize that your connection with others will be the loving, caring, respectful relationships that we all desire.

For 15 years, I have successfully worked with people to gain insight and create positive patterns of behavior to repair broken relationships, heal from past abuse/trauma, overcome addiction of all kinds, break free from anxiety and depression, and achieve greater life satisfaction. I strive to create a safe, comfortable, non-judgmental environment for clients to feel understood and accepted. I often use stories from my life experiences as a youth pastor, Jr. High teacher, and married father of three. The most common positive comment I receive from clients is that they always leave having learned something new.

I AM NOT TAKING NEW CLIENTS AT THIS TIME. MY CURRENT FOCUS IS HELPING FIRST RESPONDERS OBTAIN ETHICAL MENTAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE MISUSE TREATMENT. I have been an Addictions counselor since 1984. I have created Outpatient programs, Intensive workshops and helped individuals embrace their sobriety. I am enthusiastic about working with First Responders and their family members, including establishing a First Responder AA meeting. My goal is to help people learn coping tools, embrace their career and understand the impact it has on their family, their body and their brain. I offer specialized workshops for First Responders.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and certified school psychologist . I have over 30 years of experience across a variety of settings including outpatient clinics, psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment for children and adolescents and group homes for adjudicated youth. Years ago I was also a teacher and special education director. I spent the last 17 years working in community mental health with children, adolescents and adults and also with adults in the prison system.
