For those carrying the weight of past traumas, anxiety, or emotional wounds, EMDR provides a powerful avenue for healing and personal growth.
Are you tired of your pain? It might be the pain of a difficult childhood, a traumatic experience, or a difficult relationship. I help individuals and couples heal, connect and grow through two transformative paths: Relational Life Therapy and EMDR (Intensives, EMDR 2.0). In couples therapy, my goal is to guide you and your partner on a journey of healing, reconnecting, and strengthening your bond. Together, we'll address the disconnects in your relationship, improve communication, rebuild trust, and foster a deeper emotional connection. Our goal is to create a partnership of Fierce Intimacy, where you both thrive.

I specialize in EMDR and DBT and strive to help others make sense of complex emotions and thoughts.
Have you been struggling with trauma, emotional pain, thoughts of suicide, self-harm, or lack of support? Or have you experienced grief, loss, or complications in your relationships? Whether these feelings are temporary or lifelong, we do not need to continue with struggling alone. If life has been difficult or unmanageable, we can come together to find balance, understanding, and relief. In addition to therapy services, I offer Clinical Supervision to therapy licensees to guide them on their journey of licensure, providing ethical and compassionate supervision. Sessions offered in person or telehealth, weekends and evenings.

I am an EMDR therapist and provide counseling and support for Trauma, anxiety, depression, and mood disorders; all done through a trauma-informed lens.
Hope and happiness are achievable by improving your mental health and well-being. I provide therapy to the “whole” person with support, validation, non-judgment, guidance, and compassion. My breadth of knowledge consists of trauma-informed care using different approaches to customize your experience and healing journey. It takes a lot of courage and vulnerability to ask for help. I provide a safe space to talk about your struggles and challenges and I welcome vulnerability and the processing of emotions. I equate vulnerability as a strength, not a weakness.

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
