Welcome! I work with clients who are ready to upgrade their lives in a significant way. Feeling stuck in the same patterns can leave you feeling hopeless and create low self-worth. The truth is, most unhealthy patterns aren't due to a lack of will power or competence; they're due to blocking beliefs and subconscious protective mechanisms. I believe that every person has the ability to uncover and reprogram those old limiting beliefs, leading to greater life fulfillment.

Our lives are the result of the generations that came before us and we have the power to impact the generations to come. Starting as a child, we can learn emotional regulation, life skills, and to process life's challenges throughout development.

Dr. Hall is a licensed psychologist in Central Phoenix specializing in neuropsychology and diagnosis. She sees toddlers through young adults (and their families!) for evaluations and brief therapy. Evaluations help uncover the root of an issue, and a diagnosis provides answers. Often our clients have tried a variety of therapies before coming for an evaluation to better understand what's going on. Neuropsychologists have extensive training in brain-behavior relationships and methods for better understanding individual experiences. Dr. Hall works with a team that is also available to provide direct therapy and parent training.

Now accepting new clients and couples. Sometimes life can be overwhelming, overbearing, and downright difficult. You’re not alone in your struggle. It’s helpful to have a professional with you to figure it all out. Everyone's life has a purpose, meaning, and a capacity for joy. I strive to create a compassionate environment that inspires hope. Where people feel important, valued, understood, and welcomed. Then we can work together to challenge the thought patterns and emotional limitations we may put on ourselves.

Over the 40 plus years in the field, our goal has and always will be clearly explaining and evidencing how we came to be, how we came to believe what we believe, how we can make the changes we wish to change, but most importantly, how to be proud of having that ability to shape who we are into the person we want to be.

Are your children displaying challenges with emotions, relating to others or adjusting to a school environment? Difficulty regulating emotions and impulsive behaviors can negatively affect the way we interact with others, causing difficulties in building those relationships we need to thrive. I primarily work with children and teens with an emphasis on Autism, development delays, ADHD and anxiety and the impact on daily functioning and fully enjoying life. I have seen how trauma negatively affects normal childhood development and have been trained in EMDR for children to help free them from a burden and pain they don’t understand.

I have experience working with clients from ages 5-65 years of age. I generally work with Anxiety, Depression, Adjustment Disorder, Chronic Trauma. Issues I have experience with are low self-esteem, divorce, relational issues, anger management, social anxiety, low motivation, life stressors, etcetera. Generally, the client I like to take on is someone who is ready to take charge of their mental health and work with me toward their progress. I would like them to be open and honest with me as well to better promote the ways in which I can help them.

Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) Therapists

Who is ABA therapy for?

ABA therapy is most widely applied to teach basic behavioral, communication, and social skills to children with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disorders. It may also be used to help people undergoing rehabilitation following brain injury. It uses reward-based learning techniques to impart essential life skills. ABA is also used in the treatment of some other conditions. One is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) , to help children overcome difficulties with concentration and controlling impulsive behaviors. For people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, it is sometimes used to help them overcome compulsive behavior. ABA therapy is also sometimes used in cases of PTSD, to help people turn to positive behaviours when they have experiences that trigger distressing memories.

Why do people need ABA?

Children with autism and other developmental disorders need ABA therapy as a way to learn how to communicate and engage with others, improve their general ability to function and lead fulfilling lives, and diminish dangerous behaviors. The techniques used in ABA therapy are based on established principles of learning, and positive reinforcement—supplying earned rewards—is an important strategy for motivating positive behaviour change.

What happens in ABA therapy?

The first thing that happens in ABA therapy is an evaluation of the child in service of developing a treatment plan. The therapist meets with the child’s parent(s) in order to learn about the family and the child, assesses the child’s behavior and ability level, and then creates a plan tailored to the specific needs of that person. Once the treatment goals are established, the skills to be learned are broken down into small, component steps. Treatment sessions focus on learning and practicing each step, and furnishing meaningful rewards as steps are learned, behaviors are spontaneously implemented, and goals are accomplished. ABA therapists also train caregivers and families so that behavioral progress occurs beyond the clinical setting.

What problems does ABA therapy treat?

One of the primary goals of ABA therapy is to decrease the outbursts and other nonproductive behaviors of children with autism. At the same time, ABA aims to remedy language deficits and help such children learn how to communicate successfully. ABA therapy helps children learn age-appropriate social skills and gain skills, such as attention and focus, that are necessary for school.
