My training is in trauma-focused treatments, CBT, DBT and ACT.
Life comes in various forms of physical and psychological pain. It is my goal to listen and understand where you are with your pain. It is an honor to provide compassionate support to those who are courageous enough to seek guidance on their journey to heal that pain. If you feel that you are ready for a change, maybe you just need some understanding and my goal is to support you in going beyond the fears and the limiting beliefs and create the life you want to live.

I enjoy interweaving principles from different modalities including CBT, DBT, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and more.
Imperfections are not inadequacies; they are reminders that we're all in this together. - Brene Brown. I work with clients ages 13 through older adults, families, and couples. I believe my role is to walk along side my clients and support them in building a more joyous and fulfilling life through a person centered, holistic approach. I also place emphasis on honoring a client's knowledge about themselves to work collaboratively toward their goals. I believe that clients know themselves best and deserve to feel safe when receiving mental health support. It is my goal to create this safe, non-judgmental space.

Danielle utilizes EMDR, DBT, CBT, and trauma-informed practices.
It’s not a question of “what’s wrong with me?” Rather, it’s putting into context what happened to you and its impact on your life. It’s about confronting the core issues of the past to make a positive change for the future. That’s the kind of philosophy her clients and Danielle have employed together enhancing the quality of life in the process. As a counselor serving court supervised clients of the State of Arizona, Danielle worked on the toughest cases usually involving truama, substance abuse, child abuse, and domestic violence. Sadly, those factors are passed onto others within the household creating generational trauma.

I tailor therapy to meet your individual needs, and I draw from dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based approaches, and trauma-focused care approaches to assist you in building a life you find worth living.
Welcome! I believe that change and healing occur by having your experiences - whatever they are and however they feel - held in a compassionate, non-judgmental space. Compassion at its root means "to suffer with," and I believe in walking alongside you in your healing journey and honoring the space you are in at this moment. The therapeutic relationship is meant to hold said space for you to focus purely on yourself and your growth. I specialize in helping individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, and trauma, as well as burnout/compassion fatigue among mental health professionals. I am also an LGBTQIA+ affirmative clinician.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.
Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.
What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.
How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
