It has been a privilege to work with a wide range of individuals, couples, families, and groups, including children, teens, and adults. When conceptualizing collaboratively with a client, I want to work towards identifying the core, underlying issue. Symptom management is important, but in conjunction with this, we will strive to find the roots of the presenting problem. In this way, we can empower you to be autonomous, empowered, and emboldened.

I also believe that the relationship with your therapist, (feeling respected, understood, and cared for), is the backbone to any good therapy.
Are you ready to find a safe place to explore what is leading to the pain and concerns in your life, while finding your true self along the way? Do you want real effective ways to transform depression, anxiety, and other experiences into internal spaciousness, calm, and joy? Do you feel that your past continues to affect your present feelings and beliefs about yourself and the world? Do you feel that something within you is getting in the way of having the relationships you desire? Do you simply feel alone in your suffering? I would love to join you on your journey to finding greater freedom.

As an individual who has experienced several life changing events to include losses of loved ones, relationship and family challenges, I firmly believe that my personal, professional and educational experiences provide a solid basis for understanding and empathizing with individuals who are also facing life's challenges.
I listen, act, and transform. Many of us are faced with some very big challenges in today's society, increasing stress, depression and anxiety as we struggle to make sense of what is going on in the world. The realization that there is little we can do to change or control the situation makes things all the more difficult. I help you to see that there is hope and optimism for a brighter future if we take the time to focus on the things that we can change and control in our lives. Results have been amazing for the majority of those I work with, and I would welcome the opportunity to work with you.

I strive on being person-centered as I believe that it is important to build a strong therapeutic relationship in order to truly be comfortable in the therapeutic process.
What I share in common with many of my clients is not the presenting problem, but rather how they see and interact with the world. I prefer working with women ages 13-50, who are motivated, open, introspective, consistent and curious about themselves. I work best treating disordered eating, negative body image, relationship issues and identity building. I prefer Telehealth and working with individuals, and couples. I want my ideal client to feel like I understand their pain and I can help them!

If you have gone through complex trauma, such as physical, emotional, or spiritual abuse, challenging relationships, or simply the struggles of life, you may find you've lost trust in both yourself and others. Your relationships aren't fulfilling and peaceful. Maybe you're lost sight of who you are and what you want your life to look like. You may also be struggling with anxiety and depression in your daily life. You deserve a space to re-establish trust, redefine your sense of self, change your relationship with the past, and cultivate a meaningful life. I can provide that.

I am happy to meet with individuals, couples, teens and families.
We all feel "stuck" in our life on occasion. Sometimes we move backward and other times we move in the direction of our best intentions. Forward is the direction we are inspired to go. It is my belief that we all hold the answers within but sometimes life challenges, trauma, depression, anxiety and loss, cause us to feel stuck. As a therapist, it is my intention to help you get unstuck and follow the path you know to be true for you.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
