As a dedicated therapist, my mission is to support individuals as they navigate the intricate journey from adolescence into early adulthood and beyond. I enjoy working with people from various religious, cultural, racial, and ethnic backgrounds. Most of my work has been centered around people managing concurrent mental health diagnoses, life transitions, chronic illnesses, people experiencing a crisis, and people who self-identify as disabled. It is also important for me to work with clients who are new to therapy or hesitant about starting.

Finding your way to therapy can be a challenge. Even getting this far shows self-awareness, courage, motivation, and the ability (as slight as it may be) to consider that things could be different. Together we can discover your goals for therapy and how I can help you achieve them. I work from a client centered model and highly value trust within the therapeutic relationship. I would describe my therapeutic style as nonjudgmental, empathetic, and direct. I often find that humor and levity can also bring surprising depth to sessions. I have been a psychologist in the Valley for over 20 years and have worked in agency, university, and private practice settings. My therapy orientations include cognitive behavioral and interpersonal therapies. I am a generalist and see clients with a variety of issues. I have specialties in the areas of eating disorders, anxiety and stress management, trauma resolution, mood disorders, women's issues, giftedness, and autism spectrum concerns. Silverman, The Center for Attention Deficit and Learning Disorders combines science, technology and clinical psychological expertise for state-of-the-art assessment and treatment of ADD/ADHD, learning disorders, autism, anxiety, depression, plus other emotional and behavioral disorders. Our neurofeedback programs and other treatment techniques also work as alternatives or supplements to medication for ADD and other disorders, resulting in more thorough and long-term results.

I customize therapy to address the specific problems a person wants help with. I’ve trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Jungian Analyst I have the honor of working with a diverse population-individuals, couples, children, adolescents and their families for 30 years now. In helping people resolve their conflicts, I utilize Jungian analysis, Gottman marital therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy to my working ethos.
