Hello and Welcome! The fact that you are reading this page says a great deal about you. You have recognized that you have great potential, and you are also hopeful that through the counseling journey, you will find solace. I am not the expert on your life; you are. However, I will work to meet you where you are, and make you feel heard, seen, and cared for. Together, we will help you get to where you want to be and achieve your goals. I promote a holistic approach by recognizing each client’s social, emotional, physical, and cultural needs. Each person is unique, and I will treat each client in a unique way.

I believe that everyone can heal and I strive to meet clients where they’re at. I believe in a client-centered approach of empowerment and self-determination for each person. We often find ourselves feeling unique and alone in our pain which perpetuates the shame that holds us hostage. If this is you, I want to help. I specialize in treating PTSD, complex trauma, addiction, mental illness, and codependent systems within relationships amongst many other issues. My skill set is trauma informed, with an emphasis on EMDR therapy, as well as CBT, family systems, and emotionally focused therapy. Please reach out for help.

I am a Christian, trauma-based therapist. I work quickly to discover the root issues of the symptoms with which you present, in counseling. While using a Christian world view, my approach to therapy is to utilize EMDR/IFS to heal past wounds, hurts, and traumas that may be impacting you today. We meet clients where they are and integrate spirituality as they feel comfortable.

I have also learned directly from masters in the field of Couples Therapy: John & Julie Gottman and Phil Ringstrom to address these very issues.

I am a senior clinical psychotherapist in my field (over 15 years), and I am licensed in 3 states (Arizona, Nevada & Texas). I’ve worked in both inpatient and outpatient hospitals managing patients in crisis, as well as carrying patients from acute care into long-term recovery. My specialties are substance abuse and dependency, dual diagnosis, codependency, trauma, marital and relationship tension and impulse control disorders. I am also in long-term recovery, which allows me to roll up my sleeves and work WITH you. I promise we can get to the other side together!

I am passionate about a lot of things, foremost of which is helping individuals struggling with sex addiction, maladaptive sexual behaviors, intimacy disorders, and problematic gambling. I am also EMDR trained and utilize this technique for trauma healing. I focus on recovery from trauma, whether related to addiction or family-of-origin issues. I believe trauma affects everyone in different ways and requires its own unique recovery process consisting of blending addictions and trauma models together. Every individual has the capacity to heal and move forward on their journey towards health and happiness.
