After 30+ years practicing psychotherapy and marriage counseling, I still find relationships issues to be a major reason why people come to therapy. Relationships can sometimes be too emotionally merged, or too emotionally distant and isolating (however, there are times when relationships feel both merged and isolating all at the same time). My focus is on helping people realize and alter emotional issues that pop up over and over again and consistently inhibit relationships. Sometimes we know we're stuck or lost in a relationship, but we just can't figure out...any way 'out' of what we feel.

Hello! My name is Natalie Martin, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with Core Balance Counseling. As a therapist, I strive to provide a safe environment for my clients that promotes change and growth. My areas of clinical focus include trauma, mood disorders, dissociative disorders, marriage and family challenges, sexual dysfunction, stress-management, self-esteem, and more. I have training and experience working with clients diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder. I frequently work with veterans and first responders. I specialize in treating unhealed childhood and adult trauma. My initial focus is on stabilizing mood and symptoms before beginning treatment to heal past painful experiences (military trauma, violence, sexual violation, abuse, neglect, and grief and loss). I strive to help guide clients through healing from trauma, loss, mood instability, and/or low self-esteem.

I provide individual counseling services for those affected by gambling addiction. I focus on assisting the gambler to decrease or eliminate gambling activities. I have developed multiple interventions over the past 15 years counseling gamblers. Many of those services can be covered by the Arizona Department of Gaming Office of Problem Gambling, Treatment Assistance Program if certain criteria is met. Additionally, provide counseling for Veterans and narcissistic abuse recovery. Most major insurance is accepted.

I do specialized therapy to treat childhood trauma, sexual assaults, First Responders, military, and others with trauma.
