As a WA licensed mental health counselor/AZ licensed professional counselor (master's degree in counseling) I respect clients regardless of their life challenges and recognize them as the one in charge of the counseling. All individuals will have emotional issues at one time or another. I believe those who seek counseling exemplify traits of personal courage & strength. I employ a variety of therapeutic techniques from the cognitive-behavioral & psychoanalytic approaches & address codependency & addiction.

I have been in private practice for over 20 years. My experiences have included working with children, adolescents, and adults in coping with a variety of relationship problems, mental health, and substance use disorders.

Life is fast paced and ever changing. At times, it can be difficult to find a balance. My treatment approach is to help individuals and families explore options to meet their goals to challenges. My primary treatment approach is grounded in cognitive behavioral theory, but I also utilize a blend of conventional and alternative therapeutic services (e.g., Mindfulness, Play Therapy, Nature and Ecotherapy) to fit the needs of each client and build on their strengths to achieve their goals.

Our mission is to walk with children, families, adults and couples by providing them with a healing path and infusing Jesus into the therapy for those who desire His direction for their lives. We also offer secular counseling. Nevitta is passionate about working with children and families. She loves seeing children heal from traumatic life experiences, abandonment or neglect. Helping children overcome obstacles in life and gaining an understanding of their true value in this world, is one of the most rewarding aspects of this work. Her work is guided by the desire to equip child(ren) and families toward resiliency, healing and growth with one another. Abigail, who specializes in substance abuse and Christian counseling says, "I believe health, healing and wholeness are possible for all. I work with children, adolescents, and adults to navigate life's challenges. My mission is to provide a compassionate and trauma-informed environment where you can explore your feelings, overcome obstacles, and achieve personal growth. I believe that everyone has the potential for growth and transformation. Various concerns may include navigating emotional regulation, anxiety and depression, coping with life transitions, trauma, relational trauma, social skills development, coping with grief/loss, and coping with family changes. I am here to help you navigate your journey towards healing and resilience.

My passion is helping others through life's ups and down standing along side them in the journey. I have found through therapeutic sessions a common thread, and that is finding and holding on to hope, and the struggle in learning to truly love yourself. This can come from a number of reasons including past trauma, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, early childhood beliefs, and the list goes on. When an individual is comfortable "being in their own skin" they can move forward into healthy relationships and joy in life beginning to feel true love and hope bringing lifetime contentment.

At Music Therapy Expressions we use this tool in developing unique musical experiences to address your specific goals and needs. Your "sound", "story", and "song" are important and are validated through the belief that we all have the capacity to understand and heal ourselves. No musical experience or instrument is required. Sessions may include listening to music, discussion of lyrics, song writing, singing, or instrumental play.

Coping with the effects of a traumatic experience is like battling through a stream of thick mud, making you feel helpless and unsafe.
