I primarily work with narcissistic abuse survivors as well as empaths and HSP's (which are typically targeted by narcs). I also work with couples who feel they are in toxic dynamics and feel stuck. This life is hard but having someone who you can talk to is so helpful and I communicate with my clients, not stare at you and expect you to do all talking! I promise you that even when it feels like you just can't do it anymore.. you really can! I personally have experienced much of life's hardships but I'm grateful for that because it gave me the opportunity to help so many others!

My approach to therapy starts with creating a safe and supportive space where we can build a strong connection. For many of your challenges, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you understand and change your thought patterns. When it comes to family conflict, parenting, and self-esteem, I draw from Arbinger and Adlerian philosophies to improve relationships and foster personal growth. For self-harming and stress, we’ll work together to develop effective coping strategies and restore balance in your life. My goal is to support you in finding self-love, connection, and practical solutions to enhance your well-being.

My time as a guide in the Alaskan Rainforest taught me many truths: the thrill of wilderness air, the sacred language of native poetry and art, and, perhaps most notably, the realization that all life is deeply interwoven. As a clinician, I believe that each core aspect of a person - their spiritual, mental, physical, and social selves - requires intentional nurturing, and that each of these four "trees" uplifts the others - just as the neighboring trees in a forest work harmoniously for their united good.

Accepting new clients: Do you feel a little off? Are you tired of feeling sad, anxious, insecure, lonely or less motivated than normal? Honestly, you are not alone! Life is hard and these last couple of years have thrown everyone for a loop. However, you deserve to feel happiness and joy. I promise, you were not put on this earth to just make it through the day, and reaching out is the first step to moving toward a more fulfilling and rewarding life! As a LMSW, I have made it my mission to help adolescents and adults cope healthfully with life challenges. I know that the idea of therapy can be intimidating.

Making sense of changes in religious beliefs can be hard! You’ve come across new information or have had new experiences in life that have shifted the way you see the world and yourself. It’s hard talking to friends and family who don’t understand the changes you are going through, which leaves you feeling lonely and unsure of how to move forward. It can be so painful trying to stay connected to those you care about while also staying true to yourself.

I am passionate about people, relationships, and healing. I believe the greatest joy, peace, and happiness we experience in life comes from a deep connection with ourselves and with those we love. There are many reasons we don't experience these connections: trauma, attachment wounds, addictions, lack of modeling, mental health issues, and the inevitable stressors of life. I offer healing and compassion in a safe therapeutic relationship where tools, knowledge, insight, and understanding will strengthen and heal connections with yourself and others.

Life is hard, and sometimes feels impossible to navigate. You want to feel better and discover and build your ideal life. You want to enjoy life and be successful. But there are barriers that keep you from this life you desire. Perhaps you find yourself overwhelmed, unmotivated, struggling to make decisions, unable to control your emotions, falling behind in school, work, or other obligations. You remember a time when anxiety, depression, and painful emotions weren’t “the norm” … but those days feel like a distant memory. Don’t you wish you had the tools to change that? Life doesn’t have to stay this way.

I have experience and training in working with Faith Expansions, (Christian and LDS/Mormon church) ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Betrayal Trauma, Child-Centered Play, Relationship Issues and more.
Hi! I offer a casual, open approach to therapy that includes humor, swearing, art, mental exercises, tears, and hope for the future. My approach is based on working to learn more about why we are the way we are to then show understanding and compassion. As we explore with curiosity we discover the reasons behind what makes us the way we are and gives us a sense of compassion, empathy, and validation towards the parts of ourselves we like the least. I believe that nothing is TMI (too much information) and work to develop a strong supportive relationship to learn about and celebrate my clients.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Therapists

Why is it important for a therapist to be culturally sensitive?

Therapists and clients don’t need to share the same belief system or background to be able to work together effectively, but, especially for those whose concerns relate to their religion or cultural background, a therapist whose training includes a focus on cultural competence may be better able to form a therapeutic bond, even if they do not have an extensive history with or understanding of their client’s background before therapy begins.

Why is it important to find a therapist sensitive to Church of Christ/Latter Day Saints values?

Each individual brings a unique history and background to therapy, making it important to find a licensed therapist who is trained in a broad range of therapeutic modalities. In addition, for people who grow up in a faith tradition such as LDS that strongly influences the conduct of everyday life, finding a therapist who understands or shares that background can ease the disclosure of sensitive information and facilitate the therapeutic process.

Why might someone feel comfortable with an LDS-attuned therapist?

While qualifications and experience are always important, research has long established that a strong alliance between client and therapist is a major contributor to therapeutic effectiveness. It is wise to find a therapist who is responsive to your questions and concerns and with whom you feel you can establish a rapport. A therapist who is sensitive to LDS values and beliefs and the role they play in the lives of Church members can offer Mormon clients a welcome sense of safety, assurance that their community and culture will be understood, and contribute to the bond between client and therapist, all of which support the therapeutic process.

How do I recognize a good LDS therapist?

LDS therapists are licensed mental health professionals—holding a master’s or doctoral degree in medicine, nursing, psychology, counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy—who are also familiar with Mormon principles and values. They have an understanding of the culture and the important role the Church plays in the lives of individuals and families, which allows them to be especially sensitive to the kinds of emotional difficulties those raised in the faith can be prone to. Like all effective therapists, a good LDS therapist will have undergone training and certification in a variety of treatment modalities that help people through crises and enable them to master the challenges of everyday life.

Who is included in Psychology Today’s directory of Mormon/LDS therapists?

The directory of LDS therapists includes therapists who have shared their cultural background in their profiles. However, not all therapists choose to disclose this information; these individuals would not appear in search results for this reason. The directory also shows therapists who indicate that they have extensive experience working with LDS clients and/or communities, regardless of their own background or religious affiliation.
