The understanding of our the most authentic aspects of ourselves is at the core of successful psychotherapy. I believe that much of what disrupts us takes place at a level that we cannot access. A secure and non-judgmental relationship between the therapist and the patient in the present moment offers powerful opportunities for such growth to take place. Uncovering how the past has impacted the present is central to successful therapy. Being in private practice, my schedule is flexible and allows me to schedule patients in the morning, evening, and possibly the weekends.

I have helped adolescents and adults develop and improve coping strategies to deal with anxiety, depression, anger, and relationship issues since 1996.
I now have evening and weekend availability! Knowing how to seek help and support for whatever issues are going on in your life or the life of someone you care about such as a spouse or child can be very difficult. I have been told that I provide a safe and supportive environment which facilitates opening up and confronting issues. As a therapist, I strongly believe that it is critical to meet people where they are at in their life, not forcing change, but rather stimulating and motivating change providing individualized treatment for each client. I provide individual, couples, and family therapy.

I believe in the transformative power of a safe, supportive therapy relationship informed by the synergy between a client's wisdom and clinician's expertise.
Maybe coming to therapy is an easy, intuitive next step for you. You know and trust yourself to find just the right counselor. You know what you need from therapy to support your relationships, career/life satisfaction, self-care needs, or trauma recovery. I trust your inner wisdom and can’t wait to collaborate with you. Or, maybe you’re more tentative about this whole “therapy” thing. Life may have taught you that trust is precious–that reaching out for support could be dangerous. You may have even gotten the message not to believe in or advocate for yourself. Well, this might be a surprise: I also trust *your* inner wisdom.

Depression, anger, shame, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, relationship issues, problematic patterns - you can start to reclaim your life from them now by contacting me.
We run. We hide. We fight. We comply. And nothing changes. The stress/pain remains. We go to bed and get up the next day to do it all over again. Maybe you're at the beginning stage of coping with a stressful event. Maybe you know you need support. Maybe you don't know what you need. Maybe you're feeling out of options. Life can throw some difficult, seemingly impossible, events at us. When that happens, it's normal to feel out of control. But there is hope. I’ve spent over two decades helping people remove obstacles to living a more fulfilling life. You can feel in control again and experience life as joyful and fun.

Are you interested in living more authentically and fostering deeper connections with yourself and others? The most important relationship you have is with yourself. This affects other aspects of your life- your health and wellness, how you relate to others, and how you are performing at school or work. Life's struggles aren't linear and can be unpredictable, oftentimes catching us off guard. If unprepared for the challenges faced, they can leave us feeling overwhelmed and less connected with ourselves and others. I most enjoy working with those seeking awareness and inner balance.

Together, we’ll figure out the best way for you to manage the stress, anxiety, mood, or relationship challenges in your life, so that you can focus on what matters most to you.
You’re tired of feeling this way. Despite how perfect your life looks, you feel stressed, anxious, or irritable much of the time. You’re “stuck in your head” and not enjoying much of anything. Of course it doesn’t help that you and your partner are even more distant than usual. You’re not sleeping well, your energy is low, and you’re scared of of things getting even worse. You’d love to feel better but can’t seem to make that happen. You think therapy could help, but searching for the right therapist is overwhelming.

“Every genuinely loving relationship is one of mutual psychotherapy.” So wrote M. Scott Peck in "The Road Less Traveled." I knew Scotty, and he included our 10-yr. correspondence in his final papers. I now teach couples how to become their OWN mutual therapists. Most of us have scars from our childhood or past relationships that deter us from opening our hearts even to those we claim to love. Many couples thus enter into a tacit agreement not to rock the relational boat. But I see relational tension as a thrust for both personal authenticity AND intimacy. A blessing, not a curse, it is the very coin of the mutual-therapeutic realm.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
