I always start with where a client is and move through a process of self awareness and discovery that brings about lasting change and newfound joy. While that is not an easy process it is a journey I have found worth taking in my own life and feel honored to take in another's.
I do not believe in a "cookie cutter" approach to recovery or self actualization. Each person I work with brings a special "psychological fingerprint" that encompasses both their past and their present life experiences.
I look forward to traveling the path with you.

As a therapist, my deepest passion lies in guiding individuals through their healing journey and helping them uncover their true selves. There's nothing more fulfilling to me than accompanying people on this transformative path, supporting them as they heal from past wounds and tap into their inner strengths. I understand that being human is a complex journey involving the mind, body, and spirit, and I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals can freely express themselves. Taking a holistic approach to therapy, my goal is to meet my clients exactly where they are and assist them in moving forward in life.

Are you struggling with stress? Life’s daily hassles? Confidence/Self-Esteem? Mood instability? Anxiety? At the end of the day struggles and challenges are a part of life, but it is HOW we manage when struggles and challenges arise that make the difference. In addition to a few other “secret weapons,” I have garnered much experience supporting and helping adults and teens challenged with symptoms of depression, anxiety, addiction, stress, and other psychiatric illnesses to manage their symptoms by utilizing tools, coping skills, and practicing behavioral interventions.

Welcome! I'm Jason, and I specialize in working with men and couples. My practice, Phoenix Men's Counseling, helps work with men just like you (or your husband, partner, or relative) with the issues that guys struggle with most, such as stress, depression, cheating, marriage/relationship issues, "nice guy" syndrome (guys who have a hard time saying 'no'), anger, and emotional intimacy, among others. As a guy, I know what men deal with, and work to create a counseling environment that men can relate to, feel heard and find new solutions to their problems. I have 20 years experience working with men.

My approach is deeply person-centered, focusing on building resilience and empowering individuals on their ever evolving journey of self discovery to navigate life’s challenges. My background is rooted in community based services, and for the last four years I have worked with survivors of domestic abuse, individuals in crisis and children ages 3+ in various settings. I am a proud feminist and my work is centered around the recognition and subsequent destructing of the harsh systemic realities we find ourselves in. I am here to be your staunch advocate, encourager, and counsel. Together we will learn, unlearn, and grow as necessary.

Is something from your past impacting your confidence and your ability to feel happy? The stories we tell ourselves have the power to hold us back and keep us stuck. If you're holding onto a decision you made, or didn't make, a time to fell short or didn't reach the success you had thought in a way that starts to show up in many areas of your life it is a signal that a limiting belief is following you and impacting your present and future. I help men in relationships (husbands, fathers, partners), active and retired athletes, and individuals who feel stuck in their careers, relationships, and life.

I am passionate about helping individuals and couples who are navigating relational difficulties, life transitions, identity shifts, anxiety, and unprocessed trauma. I have found that many people in the millennial, young adult, and teen age range are experiencing a very unique set of challenges these days, often struggling to prioritize their mental health. Having faced many of these challenges myself, I get what it’s like to walk in your shoes and hope to offer guidance and support in your journey towards healing.

I enjoy working with people who want to grow, and who realize they need to change old ways and patterns that no longer serve them, but instead bring pain. In my practice, I've worked with people in all kinds of pain, and with all kinds of problems. I've helped people struggling with relationship problems, family issues, anxiety, depression, substance use and trauma. Over the 17 years that I've been counseling, I've learned that everyone needs to tell their story, to be heard, and understood. I've learned compassion, kindness, and non-judgement are all important in the healing process.
