There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, so I am trained in various modalities: EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), CBT, ACT, DBT and mindfulness and meditation.
Life can definitely go sideways; I’m here to help you right what’s gone wrong. I’m probably not your typical therapist. I’m a lawyer, a mother and a mid-life divorce survivor. I’m transparent and a little unorthodox at times. You will never wonder if you are sitting with a real person. We will laugh, we may cry, and I won't mind if you drop an f-bomb or two. I will never judge you or presume to know more about you than you know yourself. Your story matters; I want to know how you show up in your life and how your history and experience coalesced to bring you here. I will not waste your time chatting; we have work to do.

I take an integrative approach, using process based treatments to guide our work together, including DBT, ACT, IFS and a whole lot of humor.
You may be finding yourself stuck... Stuck dealing with the same old relationship issues, perhaps fumbling time and time again, trying to find the career path right for you, or maybe plain stuck struggling to get out of bed in the morning. For one reason or another you may be struggling with your identity, or are having trouble confidently embracing You wholly. You want to live a life of meaning, but all this stuff is just getting in the way, and it’s suffocating. It’s causing crippling anxiety and depression, difficulty sleeping, and you just can’t focus when you need to.

Through self- acceptance lies the path to change.
In therapy we learn to address problems we've been avoiding because they cause us pain or discomfort. For many, avoiding problems has become a problem in itself. You may experience issues with personal productivity, mood, traumatic memories, substance use, or social anxiety. These concerns can be distressing, but they are all manageable with the right skills. A great therapist, Carl Rogers, said “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself, just as I am, then I can change.” Therapy can help you learn skills to get this process of self- acceptance and positive change started.

I believe in speaking kindness, compassion, mindfulness, and self- acceptance through a Neuro-Affective Relational Model (NARM) trauma-informed lens.
It is pure joy working with queer, autistic/ADHD, pagan folks: bonus if you have some religious trauma to work through, you're a gamer, and you love the moon. I also have good news: therapy doesn't have to be painful! Post-traumatic growth is real. I offer hope to trauma survivors, and those looking to heal deep wounds. I revere complexity, and use mindful self-compassion to help you find your spark of aliveness. I can help you root out self-shaming, and find love for yourself. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. Everyone. Yes, even you. You deserve that, too.

The treatment modalities I draw from include psychodynamic, ACT, CBT, and mindfulness based therapies.
Are you your own worst critic? Do you compare yourself to others and think that you’re not ‘good enough’? Do you put yourself last, have trouble communicating and setting boundaries? Maybe you find yourself going through the motions every day, yet have a sense that there is more to life. This can be very painful, and it can feel hard to imagine that life could be different. I’m here to help you develop self-compassion, express yourself, feel more authentic in your relationships, and shift towards a life filled with meaning and purpose. I provide a warm and judgment-free environment where you will feel seen, accepted and respected.

I utilize ACT/EFT and Attachment Theory from an experiential approach.
Our relationships seem to fall apart in two ways: gradually and then suddenly. We’re able to look back and see the signs that were coming up for seasons, which leads to what seems like an all at once collapse. We find ourselves not knowing how to communicate with those that are most important to us and the normal routines of life now seem difficult. It might show up in our romantic relationships, our parenting, or even just in our relationship to self. Perhaps you’ve talked to some friends, checked out a few podcasts, and maybe even read a self-help book or two but haven’t been able to crack the code.

I will use an integrated approach including CBT, DBT, ACT, and mindfulness to assist you in developing meaningful goals that align with your personal values.
Have you ever felt like you wanted more out of life, but you weren’t sure where to start? You find yourself engaging in familiar and ineffective patterns, but aren’t sure how to break free? Choosing therapy as a mode to find your way is a courageous decision you can make toward transformation, in a way that feels authentic and tailor-made for you. Seeking therapy does not have to mean there is something “wrong” with you, only that you need a safe and accepting place to make sense of difficult emotions, painful experiences, and to create tools to make lasting change. **Currently, all sessions with me are Telehealth only**

We offer evidence based therapies like DIR/Floortime for littles, Collaborative and Proactive Solutions, Applied Behavior Analysis, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Dr. Hall is a licensed psychologist in Central Phoenix specializing in neuropsychology and diagnosis. She sees toddlers through young adults (and their families!) for evaluations and brief therapy. Evaluations help uncover the root of an issue, and a diagnosis provides answers. Often our clients have tried a variety of therapies before coming for an evaluation to better understand what's going on. Neuropsychologists have extensive training in brain-behavior relationships and methods for better understanding individual experiences. Dr. Hall works with a team that is also available to provide direct therapy and parent training.

I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Eye Movement Reprocessing and Desensitization, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, and have a history of working 10 years in the Arizona public mental health system with those with a Serious Mental Illness and others struggling with these conditions.
Hello! Right now I am available for video sessions only. It may have taken you a long time to get here and you may have already tried lots of things, from "thinking positive" to "bootstraps" to "letting it go" and though you've tried your best, there's nothing wrong with asking for help. That's why I'm here. We can always talk it out and if it becomes apparent that a deeper treatment is needed, we'll start to dig. I have Saturday hours. LGBTQIA2K+ friendly and open to all faiths and non-faiths.

I also use CBT, ACT and Polyvagal skills.
Sometimes we get so overwhelmed by messages of who we are supposed to be we lose track of who we are. This affects every aspect of our lives. It influences how we relate to our friends, family, coworkers, romantic partners and the people we pass at the grocery store but most strongly how we relate to ourselves. Finding greater understanding of who we are is how we create change. My role is to assist you on this journey, guide you in finding those answers and show you how to create healthy change with this knowledge.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists

How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?

The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?

Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?

A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
