Many adults struggle with communication and relationship issues that lead to explosive emotions, including anxiety and anger. Lack of trust leads us to keep those we love at a distance. All of these issues and more are usually symptomatic of a larger problem that keep us moving from one crisis to the next. The wounds of childhood trauma are far-reaching. We create masks and walls within us, and we acquire unhealthy and maladaptive coping mechanisms, keeping us chained to our past. Our childhood experiences, whether we remember them or not, are interwoven into the fabric of our being and how we live our lives and do relationships.
